Farmers are fascinating. In 30 seconds flat you can tell how much term debt they have.

In what place and time in history did a unilateral and voluntary cohesion of completely solitary entities come about without an all encompassing pressure.

Stop being naive or some sob will start rewinding the socio economic experience we just got rid of. The (_ _ _).

There is and will be a rock bottom. And we will get there.

We are all influenced by the lowest price sellers. In fact they set the market. If they aren't doing well...then no one else has a chance to do much better following (or taking their lead.).

Assuming all the risks and promising end product months or years ahead covers a good chunk of demand...and provides all the time needed to ordinarily line up the remainder (in advance) at the current lowest price possible.

Refuse to join the crowd and you will sit on the sidelines...with no space in the lineup if you don't participate in the contracting system.

Majority either like it...OR I STRONGLY SUSPECT HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO OTHER CHOICE.

Rock bottom did happen in the 80s after high prices. Unfortunately it took lots down when it happened. Equipment costs and land and the USA and Europe went on a save the farmer campaign and canada did shit all.
            It lasted till 2008.

There are too many people involved with ag that get paid very well to provide a product or service to the primary producer who have no accountability. They sell sell sell and don't give a shit! Well maybe its time they felt the pinch a little!! Its time all these so called ag experts are held to account!!!
There should be an organic farmer in your area with such poor crops that you should easily be able to buy out or take over.

I agree blackpowder. Maybe it's some on here that are inefficient and need to be weeded out. There's a lot on here that sound like generation X, ( the grain co's owe me a living, i should get paid what i think i should, i'm getting ripped off ) How many on here take more than one trip a year? Lots! How many are driving new pickups? Lots. Spoiled brats! ( Gen. X ) If you wanna sit on the sidelines while pricing opportunities pass you by, that's up to you. IT'S YOUR FAULT!! And yes we're extremely wet here, 36" to over 40" depending on land location.

This is already done. 25% of the land will not be seeded next spring as it will be flooded. Canola price is finally responding as canola will get matched in the spring including a fair bit of my crop. Dump of wet snow yesterday makes spring harvest a guarantee unless a miracle happens.

I have a feeling this crop will be coming off still, it is starting to remind me of 2009.

Don't give up, make sure you have some empty aeration bins when we can roll again to freeze tough grain.
