With all the grain going into storage in tough and damp condition it could be dangerous getting it out of bins if it sets up. Walls of grain can form while emptying bins and poking it can cause it to collapse, covering you. Crusts can form on top and collapse trapping you. Always work with another person(or more). Even life lines(tethers) may not be able to pull you out of the grain. Flowing grain can/will suck you in, ten inch augers move alot of grain and you may not be able to overcome it's pulling force, stop the auger.
Things are difficult enough this harvest, please don't make it even more difficult, please be careful and work safe. And remind your family and friends. I just did!
Shaun Haney.... got anything to link up to this?
There was an initiative being set up for educational purposes.... I was at a presentation while attending another function, well worth listening to and watching.
