    ....too much!

How about they put up some cash to grow the crop then share in the returns....then maybe? But if they have nothing to lose....where's their risk? Money and loss of money is a good motivator.

We've been using their weather stations and data collection for 1.95. I have to say I was skeptical, but I have been very impressed on the value.

In our area there's easily 10% that shouldn't get the high rates of fertilizer. Pretty easy to save the $$ to cover the cost of their services. Also good for the environment of that turns your crank.
If your land is corner to corner all the same then it's a waste of money.
Oh then you're likely not farming in eastern Saskatchewan either.
The problem is tho around here you're not sure if its the year where those areas produce more and you screw yourself by not applying enough. Verified by the ones that record results, VR has lower yield and does not have an ROI in the long term.

Now if you knew what the weather was going to be, then it would be useful

We have slowly ramped up using these vari rate companies. Havent used farmers edge though. I feel it is worth it for me. We have all fields soil tested with 60 probs per field and vari rate 5 zones per field, both fert and seed. To each his own but I'm seeing value. I am putting the nutrients where its going to pay the most and avoid throwing too much in the spots that simply will not provide a return for the extra n. We pay around $4 per acre on all seeded acres
