    Elevator Fusarium Programs

Hey, has anyone heard of any of the elevators doing anything to handle all of the high fusarium wheat? Most of my wheat has been grading #3 to Feed due to high fusarium.

Probably buying it cheap and running it over a cleaner and blending it out with acceptable stuff. That is "their" program. I bet there will be a home for "high fuzz high vomi" durum yet at an acceptable price. It's always darkest before the dawn. Specs can be a moving target sometimes..... look at Malt Barley.

I believe the program is called 'that's your problem'

The socialist days of the wheat board are over.

I have to agree with tweety the NDP ways are done as the CWB each farmer has to help them selves. The elevator companies don't give a rats ass about you MR Farmer its your problem. If you want to sell it for them they will take it and then its theirs to do as they like.

Yes our grading standards in Canada are a real fracking joke. But thats another story.

Heard some elevators have try to clean it but i'm not sure how successful that has been. As for blending Country Elevator Stocks are at the lowest in over 30 years so the amount of good quality available for blending likely very low.

Seems to be a consensus of the trend here....

And in all honesty it is the individuals issue.... if the buying company wants to trickle down some benefit of cleaning and blending.... thank you! I'm not too proud to accept it!

I agree those times are over and we are now responsible for a lot now. My initial question was more trying to find out if any of the elevators have been coming out with a high fuz or a load averaging program.

The elevator companies at the top may not care but some of the Grain Reps I know do and try their hardest to help the farmer.

RP. In Wadena had a high fuzz program last week to fill 50 cars.sold all ours..it was grading 3 and feed with some at 2.75 fuzz.they gave us a 2..with a 20 cent discount.
Worked out to 5.43 per bushel.no prize but viterra was offering 2.40 for our stuff..all gone no worries is OK with me.

I am not hearing any large scale program approach, just guys working together to try different things to improve quality. Good luck.

Interesting, did the discount scale up with your fusarium or was it flat?

Ours was a flat price as they averaged the total bushels..

That's a pretty good deal then especially if it was 2.75 fuz. i'm in MB and RP is doing something similar but scaling up the discount as your fuz gets worse.

Kinger, call CHS in Winkler. Phone 1-844--222-6652 and ask for Derek. They'll want a sample.

Thought CHS in Winkler only handled canola?

CHS, Winkler is handling canola and wheat now. They have bids for DNS, HRS, and bids for high vomi wheat that seem better than RP or Paterson.
