What I find fascinating is all the political commentators had Clinton winning. Trump is putting up a good fight. He tapped in the average persons dislike of political elitism even though he is a wealthy elitist himself. Unfortunately for Hillary she had too much political baggage. As for your assertion Grassfarmer that it was all Rednecks that voted for Trump, you are displaying the same politically correct elitist attitude that the populace rebelled against by voting for Trump. I guess he might be smarter than everyone gave him credit for lol!

If Trump is true to his word there could be further loses as he closes the border to trade. Will we see duties on grains and cattle, and other exports going south? And we don't know how much costs may rise for consumer goods and even equipment if he forces companies to stop oversees manufacturing and have to pay more to American workers to manufacture what is now overseas.
The best thing about this election is it appears Republicans will control the House, Senate, and White House. We will truly find out if closed borders, trickle down economics that Trump has campaigned on really works. Republicans will have no one to blame if the economy crashes.

This from a uk paper.

Canada's immigration website crashes
Canada's official immigration website has crashed after Donald Trump's unexpected success in the US election.
Application forms on the Canadian government website appeared to fail to load and website users reported extraordinarily long loading times to access basic areas of the site.
It came as there was a huge increase in the number of search hits for "move to Canada," according to results from Google.
There was also a spike in searches for "the end of the world":

In the event he pulls this off, it will be interesting, and scarey to watch what his devoted followers do when they discover they've been conned. He promised the moon, without having a clue as to how he would deliver. He's not going to be draining any swamps. He's not cancelling Obama care because he has no clue how to replace it. He has no idea what it means to be president. He is thinking as far as election day, and not one day farther.
The stock market has already fallen more that the day after 911. That should be a major concern to any farmer in this country.

Yup, resident phycologist here.. this ain't lookin good, people are afraid, bearish market sentiment. I'd say those with some money in equity markets also have a clue of what's really going on with general global economics. Big majority of public traded company CEOs are not big on trump for a reason. You know those CEOs are generally people with increadable analytical skills. Thats how they do what they do, manage billion $ companies.. Anyway forget it.. No actually maybe, "THINK ABOUT THAT".
Stone picker how's your portfolio lookin? You more of a tin can Buried in the back yard kinda fella are Yu?
At least we won't have to worry about them dreadful Muslims ah pars. Oh you can come out of the bomb shelter parsley.

"Well if you must know, i'm sitting 70% cash waiting to see how things shake out. It's too bad that the news media is doing so much fear-mongering."
Since you thought we should all know, why not give us some advise!
How long have you been sitting on this cash, has it been months or years, did you sell off at the close of the market yesterday? Are you jumping back into the market today before the open? Are you waiting weeks months or years before buying again? What signals are you looking for before buying back into the market. Have you been sitting on the sidelines with this cash since the crash of 2008, missing one of the greatest bull run ever?
Did you take Harper's advise in October 2007 when he stated it was a good time to buy into the market?
Sitting with 70% cash is the other 30% in gold? What kind of return are you earning on this 70% cash?
Come on Stonepicker I liked to hear some of your marketing strategy maybe I could get some pointers from you! You certainly sound very confident with this type of post!

Lol forage, are you a worm on a hook that i'm supposed to take a bite out of? As with most investors i've learn't from experience and listening to smart people. All my stocks definitely haven't been winners, but i've done well. I could give you the best advice in the world and you would put a negative spin on it. I've been in cash since late summer, half of my 30% still invested is in gold stocks. That's all i'm interested in telling you.
