    How many will admit

Noticing a lot of views on some threads....anyone willing to post where they are lurking from ....industry.....rail....grain cos. ....politicians.....press....

Where do the lurkers or non posters come from and why not engage?

This is a great place to discuss without leaving a carbon footprint going to the coffee shop? Lol.

I have some ideas knocking around about some threads.....fur and the Canada goose Co. .....grainco personel attitudes....etc

Where are the people from that read these intellectual conversations.

On average the Crop report gets over a 1000 lookers every week. 6 to 10 post whats happening in their area.

Interesting wouldn't it be to see who checks it out every single day.

    15000 a month.

I follow this site and post on regular basis but not in large numbers. While the past couple years have been fairly good on Agriville in terms of respect and decorum, there where periods in the past that were very disgraceful posts imo. People will make statements on here that they would never do if their real name was attached. I recall many people talking about this and the resulting response was one of distain for the poster with too thin skin to take the personal criticism. The result is probably that there is 15 or 20 is all that is left that post on a ongoing basis. Its too bad that it went this way. As a Sask farmer it is great to be able to read the "whats happening on the prairies". I think that if people showed more respect to each others viewpoint there would be more activity. Imagine how most talk to their neighbours at the local fowl supper this fall and compare it to the reaction to a post that someone doesn't agree with.

You just labelled everyone who doesn't post, a lurker. I don't think that will encourage too many to post. I think most who view on here are doing it solely for entertainment value, and that's their right. I had a chuckle about " these intellectual conversations " Like i said, entertainment value.

I am more of a lurker than a poster. Wade is my real name, farm in SW Alberta and even though I only knew of Cotton through this site, was saddened and did donate to the fund. Don't want to get involved in some of the bashing that goes on but do like the info.
Thanks to everyone that does post

This is my take, agriville is the reflection of every farm meeting/gathering you have been to. Most sitting watching some listening and learning, some disapproving, some mocking or feeling superior or inferior but most silent, usually the same few speaking at most meetings some from knowledge , some trying to gain insight . Some pushing their own agenda for what ever reason. Some worked up and angry some cool calm and collected. Some being humble some not. Some bitchin Some bragging Some not really sure why they are there but go thinking they might miss something. Some actually know whats going on and some don't have a clue. Some just there for a feeling of group support because farming can be a lonely solitary occupation and when things get stressful such as it did this fall its nice to go somewhere to see that others are either going through the same thing or worse and suddenly it doesn't seem so bad. (usually)

Fertilizer trader living in the Netherlands originally from Sask. This place kills the home sickness some days and keeps me up to date on the ag issues back home, even though I can offer very little in way of contribution to the forums.

Besides the fact that I enjoy all of your company, I need the assistance or maybe reassurance when making decisions. I am amazed at the agricultural expertise that is shared on this site. I am sure there are a lot of lurkers, hope you enjoy the site. Thank you AV admin for keeping the site going even though there are problems since your "update".

I use my real name. You would be amazed at how many people throughout the industry and Gov't that contact me, in person and through web, to discuss issues that I have posted on here. Lots of posts are quoted and discussed in board rooms and meetings. Lurkers want to discuss or get more info but not on public forum. All discussions spark interest in one way or other.

As you can tell from the events around Cotton many people, both posters and Lurkers, pass judgement on personalities (good and bad) on what is said here.

I suppose you think that the three prairie provinces are using your weekly report to compile information they put out from their Ag Departments. Or that input companies are making decisions on pricing and inventory from what you putting in your report. Sk3 your so humble!!!

The majority people who come to this site that don't post are here for nothing more than the entertainment. I' m sure they get a kick from all the debating that goes on here about politics, climate change and immigration. Just reread the treads the majority of them end up with some sort of political comment.

The majority posters on here are staunch Con/Reform supports who attack any poster of a different view of theirs just knowing they have the numbers to do debating for their cause. Why would any person with a different opinion from the majority base bother post on Agriville only to get torn apart??

I hate all political parties equally.

I'd gladly pay off ten times the per person attributed Canadian-Sask debt if the next batch would stop blowing our wealth chasing jobs that disappear in down turns.

Wall is so wrong on not getting a healthy resource share. Trudeau is just so wrong on so many levels.

There you go. I just pissed everyone off on AV.
