So I read grasses articles. And ive tryed halfheartedly to read chucks.
Ever notice how the same article can read slightly different for different folks?
We read aloud in our mind, And we use the inflection that suits us.
If we read well enough we can feel what attitude the author is trying to project.
Removal of all words not pertaining to the 5Ws? Can we do that. Makes a lot of print not news or facts.
Now we can begin to recognize patterns inthe authors' message. For or against.
They are people too, but also need to make a living. As humans we all have a biased ear.
Now here's another problem.
Have we noticed the change in tone of what we read and hear lately?
Anyone with any questions is quickly dismissed as a Denier. It is the latest pronoun.
The words other than the 5ws carry the feeling the Deniers of today are the same as the Holocaust deniers of yesterday for example. Claiming full licence on righteousness loudly before really saying anything else.
So, when reading or listening, try to ask yourself the 5ws. Try to ask yourself; "Is this a novel, a poem, an editorial or speech? Or is this news or a textbook or encyclopedia or dictionary? Who is speaking and what else is he trying to say?
I am afraid we are losing our ability to tell the difference.
Finally, as this is about liberty and free speech.
We all have the right to speak and rebutt here as we choose.
Grass and chuck can cut and paste at will. They choose to eventually be smug and righteous.
It is our choice how intelligently or pointedly we respond. Often a struggle, I should know. They are experts on trying the patience. Animosity is a justifier. Who'se getting paid here?
