Just checking in. Pic is of leading some recently weaned cows to some winter grazing. Will have to chop a water hole for them anyway so will likely supplement them with a hay bale (10 lbs/hd). Leaving all this for a few weeks in southern California soon. The weather and the better half are more agreeable down there.

Edit. Sorry no pic. Wasn't that good anyway.

Ok, so I still have 750 acres left. It has been a harvest from hell. After that is done, about 150,000 to dry.

Would love to be on a beach. Maybe in February.

Just me and the old banjo today. And the scenery. Peaceful. Rolling in the profit drying all this grain!
Oh, and I learned I'm old because I wear green kings!
BTW, be careful with some girls and reference to "motorboatin".

Won two trips in three years from the Rider Lotto....what are the chances? First to Jamaica Mun....Second to the Mayan Riviera....gave both to the kids. They have longer to remember them than I. Who is going to feed the dog and keep the wood stove stoked and haul out the ashes? Yeah right!

Not much of a beach bum. Probably some "nice scenery" on resort and lots to see and do off resort.

If and when I'm ready, I'll go. Probably harder not to go than it is to cave to peer pressure. Everybody and their dog, even those who can barely afford it manage to get there.....First World problems! It used to be a married couples goal to go on a hot holiday once in their life....now? Even the early twenty somethings feel entitled. One word....affluence.

To each their own! Enjoy the break people!

Staying put braving another WINTER...have fun, stay safe wherever that is. We just have to keep warm.

A week away is just too much of a tease, planning to KEEP away for much longer than that.

I agree Farma, thousands of views and a dozen or so participating????

Usually dont have anything of interest to add. Kind of like how I veiw Facebook or Twitter. Who wants to hear that I fixed a tire on my wifes SUV or something equally exciting. Its hard to get away with two kids in hockey especially when they lay the guilt trip on you for going without them. We may go anyway but dont know where or when yet. Thats it. Consider me checked in now I'm checking out.

I have taken my boys since they were three and five. Its family time. Condo living makes it easier than all inclusive. Rented a car in most countries even if some you have to drive on the left.
They will always remember a Christmas away but most hockey games are forgotten. except the one where they won the Stanley cup. But most don't get that far.

Hoping for a ft of snow to get on our new Ski Doo's..and forget about farming for 4 months.

SF3. I dont need family time. If Im not working i am usually running with kids. We have hours and hours of family time plus its hard to justify the cost of my wife and I much less the kids all the time. We have done the Disneyland thing and Mexico with them but just mom and dad time is at least as important. Enjoy your down time. Im going hunting. Lol
