Usually dont have anything of interest to add. Kind of like how I veiw Facebook or Twitter. Who wants to hear that I fixed a tire on my wifes SUV or something equally exciting. Its hard to get away with two kids in hockey especially when they lay the guilt trip on you for going without them. We may go anyway but dont know where or when yet. Thats it. Consider me checked in now I'm checking out.

I have taken my boys since they were three and five. Its family time. Condo living makes it easier than all inclusive. Rented a car in most countries even if some you have to drive on the left.
They will always remember a Christmas away but most hockey games are forgotten. except the one where they won the Stanley cup. But most don't get that far.

SF3. I dont need family time. If Im not working i am usually running with kids. We have hours and hours of family time plus its hard to justify the cost of my wife and I much less the kids all the time. We have done the Disneyland thing and Mexico with them but just mom and dad time is at least as important. Enjoy your down time. Im going hunting. Lol

Already checked in, should be checked out!

I have no sympathy for global fun that turns into something else, even if it is a hangover. I consider it a waste of energy (both ways).

I'd rather place the potential travel energy into uses within three miles of the farm, if I choose to consume it.

Brutal that it has come down to the only way to visit a neighbour is if it happens, by chance or by design, thousands of miles away.

".....living where you work and working where you live". Pretty much the same thing but I think it has it's drawbacks and benefits. I think it's harder to "turn it off" if the above quote applies to you. Or do you take it with you when you're on vacation as well or live off the farm?

I guess when it's your skin in the game it's allot different than being a salaried employee. Easy to turn it off when its not "your business".

Ive been on a plane holiday twice since 98. Never before that. Didnt know any better. Way i was raised.
Good thing too. Now cant afford it and when i do her lawyer questions cash out.
Ive said before I make same living standard as if working summer road crew for county. But self employment (and hopefully equity building) is worth an awful lot.
To those who can I say awesome.

Personally, I'd far rather see and play in snow, than sand and water, unfortunately, my better half has the opposite perspective.

Serious question, what do adults do in resort vacations to warm places? I understand how a little kid would have fun with sand and water, but not grown ups. We went once, I said never again, and I meant it, family was supposed to go again last winter, I threw away my ticket, that is how little I care to go bad enough to waste the money on the ticket, even worse to have waste even more money being there not enjoying it, and not doing anything productive. I don't drink, I don't enjoy food poisoning, I can't swim, don't enjoy drowning, sunburns are not enjoyable at all, I can sit at home and read a book if I want, much more comfortable than sitting on a beach. Most of these places aren't safe outside of the fenced compound. And the "scenery" I have at home beats anything I've seen on a beach. My wife tells me I don't know how to relax, I can't see why that is a problem?

Off to go play in the snow again.
