Was this contract "brokered" or did you deal directly with them from the start.

Have you been in touch with the CGC to see if this operation is bonded....? which seems to mean shit anyway!

Why does this ****ing Industry feel like they have the right to operate on farmer's money? Example.... purchasing grain and not paying with in the contracted time frame after delivery or even within two business weeks. Or the big ****ing push to prebuy fertilizer, chemical, canola seed, inoculant, etc... Ok fine, fertilizer for logistics reasons and inoculants for production reasons... but I don't want to pay for all of it until I use it. Go to the bank to finance your operation like we have to!

These co's are in the business to sell products, if you don't wanna buy now, dont't buy. Any co. that i've sold grain to ( that i get custom hauled ) i have the chq mailed and it comes within 3 or 4 business days. I think the general avg. is getting exaggerated.

Stonepicker...we get it you are a hero...don't speak for others that have had shitty dealings with grain buyers. I know a hell of a pile of farmers that have had similar screw jobs from outfits like this...the average is higher then you think.

Our work is done at delivery it's time the industry pays.

This nonsense of waiting 10 days for payment from any middleman is bullshit.

When any company says it takes 14 days to be paid.....no deal. The trucking company is getting paid before me ffs .....

The railways have their money before the grain is loaded in the railcar....at the majors ....we as farmers wait....

            Mostly for excuses.....
            Amen!

              Stonepicker

I have a personal friend who was extremely cautious about everyone one he sold his product to, but got screwed by a major hog producer a few years ago. He was embarrassed to even talk about it, how could he have let this happen. I told him many times it wasn't his fault that there are certain people in industry ready to swindle anybody they can.

So just because it hasn't happen to you (yet) keep you cocky mouth shut, those that it has happen to few bad enough that they were taken advantage of.

If you wanna cry about it, that's up to you. If you deal with reputable, BONDED co's. there is a very small chance you'll get taken. And of course it does happen from time to time, co's do go broke. Get some toilet paper, you've got diarrhea of the mouth.
