I spelled it wrong, should be halvah. It's an israeli or middle eastern treat, many different types. I always buy mine in winkler mb.

Halvah to me is very rich....good with cold milk though...tempers the sweetness. Our local store has some pre-cut and packaged. I remember my parents buying it in about 8x12x2 inch tins. I bought it in about the same size plastic containers. So is it vanilla and vanilla/chocolate marble flavors.

Parsley, I'll get a couple of the packages of Halvah and send them to you... in appreciation of the things you sent me.

Brave, I must say I love to cook and bake. Interesting note for you : Picked small stones on gravelled road last week. Rinsed them. Ran them through the dishwasher. Made an overnight special bread dough. Salt. Water. Yeast. Next morning kneaded it down. Formed it into small chunks. Preheated stones on pan in 500 degree oven. Rolled out hunks. Poked holes in each hunk with wet fingers. Sprinkled on chia and sesame seed. Placed rolled dough on hot stones one minute. Turned it. Baked another four minutes.

Unbelievably interesting taste. Served it at dinner party last week. A hit. Pars

Today I cooked our black eyed peas for new years. - for good luck. We are part Uk and part French so we like Tortiere and buckwheat cabbage rolls and perogies (all types) Ukrainian Coop sausage, wheat with honey and poppy seed, pickled herring, and this year plum pudding with maple butter sauce for dessert. Yep, no baking without butter and whipping cream, but we've noticed that the butter ain't what it used to be. Have you tried head cheese Parsley? Mom used to make it from pigs feet, but it's called head cheese should have been called toe cheese maybe. Can't wait as our awesome son and his great wife host Xmas eve for about 28 of us. He only has 3 jobs and three kids but only too happy to make Xmas the most memorable as we have two 92 year olds still with us. Parsley, you and John can come on down and test our concoctions.

My mother's version of a crown jewel dessert. That smoked salmon sounds awesome.
