Xmas for me how about you

My xmas starts on midday 24th drive to big smoke 135 kms to Adelaide and have a feast with in laws and there friends. They own hotels and are super busy on xmas day making sure all runs smoothly. Often 70 or 80 people will drop by and have a feed or drink like a herd of grazing animals.

Then xmas morning a quite family breakfast with inlaws at about 6 am before they head off to pubs.

Then drive home have a peter family light lunch.

Then of to my mums house 18 kms away for dinner and my sister comes from about 100 kms away, stay till 10 at night done and dusted for another year.

Daughter in NZ catch up with her Monday and shes home for 3 weeks.

Boys in Adelaide will do 24th and 25th and stay for 26th before heading back.

Alas one daughter in Melbourne cant make it this year work commitments.

Sadly could be last xmas for our dear 84 yr old aunty her health is failing shes a real character and one of the nephews is of to usa with a sporting scholarship tennis hes about the 9th ranked junior in Australia for his age group 16 and he will be gone for 2 years.

Harvest still going at slow steady rate about 12000 acres to go expected work rate per day is way down due to record crops and short days so unseasonably cool.and issues at elevator shortened hours, But have a extra combine helping as of mid last week.Still waiting for 170 tonne mother bin.

Often aussie harvest is in the 12 to 14 km range this year 5 to 7 kms

merry xmas all and spare a thought for michelle crane and her family without chad count our blessings

    Merry Christmas Malle!!

There is a little part of me that wishes we were still combining at Christmas, but a big part of me glad we are done.

We do A big Christmas Eve dinner with family. Lots of fun. Then Christmas Day is opening santa presents and usually building toys etc!

I am going to take a bit of time, Being running since harvest at 110% trying wrap things up but the weather has made anything outside pretty tough. Nice weather starts tomorrow!!!

Merry Christmas! May 2017 bring everyone good health, happiness and more acres!!

Merry Christmas Mallee. Around here the kids will start drifting back this week to the old farm house and we'll eat an drink more than we should. WE fill our days with board games and card games and lots of conversation. Always my favorite time of year.

Going to my aunts place for my moms side of Christmas today. Then on the 24 th go to the wife's side for lunch and then church later that day with the evening at some extended family place in town. Wake up on the 25 th and feed cows and have a late breakfast before watching the kids (2 and 3 years old) open gifts with my folks. Then my side all gets together on Boxing Day.

I always tell my wife I want a brown Christmas and this week is supposed to warm up to get rid of the bit of white stuff we got. Hopefully can keep combining but I doubt we'll be done by then anyways. The monsoons this year meant 3 months of seeding, 6 months of chopping silage, and 4 months of combining (so far). I'll be glad when it's over with. Whole family and hired hand have going like banshees since mid April when calving started.

Merry Christmas and hope everyone gets a well deserved break.

I have to go to the Estevan coal mine for Christmas this year because I've been such a rotten asshole Santa won't even bring me a lump of coal.

We hatched 13 colourful chickens this spring and need to stay home to mind the chicken coops. Our immediate family includes two 92 year old grammas otherwise we would be down south probably. Every year when our kids were young we packed the van on about Dec 15 and headed to Phoenix for Xmas. It was a lot of fun with a stop over in Vegas on the way down. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and I am sure it will with global warming and all. I hope the ice at Echo doesn't melt and sink our ice fishing shack. Merry Xmas to you and yours. We will drink a toast to our Ozzie friend🌲
