Are you a follower of Hope who sells lunar plots of land?

He was once sent a heating bill from the owner of the sun. Hope returned the bill, and asked the sender to shut
off the heat being sent to his moon.

Too bad that Hope didn't pay up, because then I'd be soon sending my carbon tax bills to the sun's owner for not turning down the heat.

Depends how far back you want to go back in history to determine rightful ownership.

Based on your statement, I'm sure the First Nations people of Canada would like their land back that you presently farm, which at one time was theirs.
I have to agree, playing the game of who has a historical right to any piece of ground is just not possible, due to the convoluted history of most of the world. I have this discussion with my very nationalistic Russian wife all the time. Throughout history, large parts of Russia have been ruled by(to name but a few): Russia, Turkey, Sweden, Lithuania, Poland, Ukraine (Kievan Rus), Mongolia ( or at least Mongols), Germans, Chinese, natives, etc. Where do you draw the line, and if you make the arguement that this piece of land belongs to me because between 1312 and 1437 it belonged to my ancestors king, then you open up counter claims from dozens of other parties from dozens of other time frames, and on every other border. The political map of the world was not static at any point in history, and will not be in the future, not matter how concrete the colorful maps might seem to us today.
