Well as 2016 comes to a end its a time to reflect on what worked and what didn't in 2016. Investments worked but as far as my advisor it was just dumb luck timing buy day oil hit bottom and day Britain voted to get out.
Much like farming you can have the best plans but a hail storm or frost or drought can wreck them in a second.
So yes for us it was a good average crop with excellent HRS and barley yields with canola average or just up and peas down due to flooding.
We're saturated so not looking forward to next spring but hey it's still 120 days till seeding begins.
Travel tip this week is real easy. Get off the resort! Get off the resort. Either drive, or private driver or bus tour or taxi or even public bus. Funny how different each place is after a little sight seeing. This time we found some amazing new stuff to see and we have been here 8 times before. Biked in and walked within a few hundred feet of lava flowing into the ocean. I see why some get hooked on volcanos. One note to JT ah I think they spew out more Co2 than all of Canada combined, just saying a tax is a tax is a tax no matter how much lipstick you put on it.
The classic Old Fashion.

Cheers and happy new year from my family to yours and may 2017 be the best year ever in farming.
