CGC owes money to farmers

The CGC has built a 100 million dollar slush fund off the backs of farmers.

And all the while rarely enforcing their standards at elevators.

Phytos are $22 and grade certs are $33. They must make their money inspecting at terminals ( inspecting railcars).

Outwards for ships is $1.68/tonne. Outward weighting is another 0.16/tonne. Cgc doesn't provide elev onsite anymore.

CGC doesn't do the inwards inspection at ports anymore that is done by 3rd party so their profits would have to be added in too as a cost to farmers. Bet they aren't working at a loss.

Or take the 100 million and actually regulate the industry instead of rubber stamping it.


Find ways to deal with the issues of the day.

Graincos have charged farmers for cleaning for 75 years maybe they should be paying for the appropriate cleaning tools and the grain commission ensuring procedures are followed.

I had an issue about the sample taken on flax and still haven't heard back from the CGC. To me they rubber stamped the grainco's procedure without the farmers comments... seems one sided.

And the new chief commissioner demonstrated a lack of respect for farmers at the Canola Council; so maybe the quarter mil salary in this new role will change that? Not holding breath
