CGC owes money to farmers

So true Bucket, that $100 million wasn't just created in 16 months, all was quiet from Wheat Grower when The Cracker was in charge. WCWG were a one trick pony, best before date expired on Aug /2012!

WCWGA actually got CGC to lower the levy when it was initially implemented and they deemed that it was still too high then...They have been skeptical and vocal on the CGC file for years. Even when Ritz was minister.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but when The Cracker took over didn't all CGC fees to farmers get increased, and some re-inspection opportunities eliminated. Did the Wheat Growers make any noise at that time?

Your right, as did other farmer orgs but all fell on deaf ears. Same as their (CGC) own governance review where it was suggested that a Grain Farmers Advocacy Office be set up, that would/could have had a handle on this and many other problems that were caused by changes to the CGC and in the grain industry as a whole. This is only tip of iceberg of problems.

i am trying to remember , what the deal was, with the CGC.
the govt. down loaded 100 % ( well maybe 130%) of the cost to the producers.
( were the fees just not covering costs before)

were they trying to privatise it ? or did they in some way.

did ritz want the grain co.s to do their own inspections?

that one sounds like a recipe for abuse.

if we ever did try to get to point of doing stock switching at the ports .
each co would have their own opinion on what grade was being loaded.
and how much dirt to add.
lawsuits, unhappy customers.

why is this even a topic anyway
don't you know
the grain . cos not the farmer . pay for the inspections, just like demurrage.

so in western cdn. wheat grower logic it does not cost the farmer anything.

or didn't until , the liberals were elected.

the wheat growers , may have brought it up, but between them, ritz and harper,
they created it.
