    Saskatoon Crop Show

Heading up Mon-Tues, are others attending the shing dig? Be nice to get away for couple days, meet up with some old friends, meet some new ones.
There seems to be more and more snake oil booths there every yr. I'm sure the upstairs will be busy with talk of seeding plans, with very few discussing 2016 LOL.

It's very repetitive. ....I go every few years and realize they hope to catch a few newbies.....

Can those that are going keep an eye on new crop prices and post them on this marketing forum....that would be something new here....

That's right .... you have to pay to play in Saskatoon. ...sort of sucks considering who funds the businesses displaying there.....

It's food fuel shopping and an admission fee .....that the cities take for granted.

It would be nice to just pay for the one day you want to goto. It is sold out but I am sure lots of people have paid for days they are not using.

it is always nice to go and see new things, but as long as all of us dumb redneck farmers keep flocking to these shows the industry leaders think everything is just rosey in ag these days and they will continue gouging us on every input. maybe just stay home im pretty sure we can put in a crop on our own without being told what the latest and greatest trends will be for 2017. i know for a lot of guys it is just a big drunken party and to blow off steam ive been there and done that.

It was good yesterday. Nice to walk around and talk to guys, see old friends etc. Looks like heading gas and diesel is something new and lots of colour sorters etc. Chem companies getting tight as hell nothing really to give away,

hedging gas and diesel is possible to price protect.

If fuel companies are pushing hedging on fuel it is because they expect the price to move lower. Once the speculators are done trading the OPEC deal, oil prices are heading lower over the next few weeks.

Kinda like the great deal on Fertilizer at the end of May last year from Cargil and P&H .... lol
Price went down days later and never got above those levels till this past December.
There is a lot of b/s to sort through these days from all levels.

What is the suggested way to hedge diesel fuel for protecting against an increase?

Heating oil future or heating oil call option?
Crude oil future or crude oil call option?
                            Buying oil company shares?
Buy more fuel tanks, fill up and install security system?
