What is price difference between the two?

Extra green seed was next to impossible to find in spring of 2016. Reds a little easier but not by much. French market is somewhat fickle and quite small in comparison to small greens. The price of french was about the same as the price on reds in 2015. 2016 might just be an anomoly for the french red spread. Its pretty fair to say red acres will be down in 2017 and green acres up. Though reds will likely remain the bto's lentil of choice and for good reason. They grade well with the CL system and preharvest herb/straightcut model. Flip flopping is always risky as there is no established market for christmas lentils(red green mix).

Yes grow lots of French greens. Market is huge for them. LOL..

60-70 cents ....... 30 cents twelve months later. Sucks when you know they can pay more.

Signed .40/.38 picked up in yard for next fall delivery so yes our farm will be sticking with lentil rotation for foreseeable future. However we have grown small greens for almost 25 years and we stick to our rotation and don't stray to far from the 1 in 4 rotation and has worked well.
