The US has an open market plus a good backing for farmers by the government. ...

Have you ever seen a Canadian wheat trade on the Winnipeg exchange since 2012.....

Or even a report that compares to the usda report above?

It must be me but we are so far away from an open transparent market in Canada.... it's laughable .....much like those in government that implemented it....I think I heard a rumor Yerry described as a buffoon publicly ......that's too kind.

I don't mind some aspects of the "open market" but the promise of transparency never seemed to materialize. Let's NOT resurrect the CWB debate but work towards improving, for primary Producers, what we have today.

        Added in....thank you 101.

This sentence is included in the weekly US wheat associates report:

These prices are not intended to represent offers nor should importers of U.S. wheat rely upon them as such.

As far as I'm concerned these weekly reported prices at export position are the "list price"
At times it may take quite a discount to get an actual deal done with a loyal foreign buyer or a come and go buyer who is always threatening to go shopping somewhere else.

Interesting comment in a rising market.....deeper discounts?

Or a different blend prescription to reflect what they are paying for?

Minneapolis cash spread to any of the old crop months is going down. Also the Mar-July inverse is shrinking.
Short term top? Might have to wait till April for indications of any higher prices than what are out there now. Who knows
Australian wheat shipments are traditionally heavier in the first half of the calendar year. That will be a factor in numerous countries where Canada ships to including Japan and S Korea, the only 2 countries aside from the US that have bought #1 CWRS wheat this crop year.

Isn't CWRS different quality than other wheats? Shouldn't we be comparing USA wheat prices to our cpsr?

Probably but like the AAFC prices that would be a well held secret by the families.....now they are plugging up the elevators locally with durum screenings, commercial salvage and feed wheat....idiotic and almost criminal.

Blending CPS with durum to cut the fusarium numbers is what some grain cos do. ... and yet we need more classes of grain....
