Who is the USA best trade partner?

Canada is a better friend to the USA than most would think.

Canada is the US best trading partner by far as we are the only country that buys as much or more from them as they do from us. This is due to the nature of the Canadian economy where we only produce one thing: oil. That is why we buy so much from them. US trade with all other countries is a joke as it is all one way mainly due to all countries of the world constantly depreciating their currency for the sole purpose of exporting more to the US. For example: if Germany still had the DM and not the Euro, they would be shipping less to the US as their exports are made artificially more competitive due to the devalued Euro.

And the Mexico USA trade balance looks not as bad as Trump claims.

A lot of the job losses in the US manufacturing sector have come from automation.

Multinational companies move jobs to where it makes sense for their balance sheet.

Trump seems to blame Mexico and China.

Currency values are set in an open market. Most governments have limited ability to move currency markets as economic events beyond their control have a greater impact. Case in point, CAD dollar falls and rises with the price of oil.

Mexico usa trade deficits is 60 Billion on the chart and this is what Trump has been saying.

What I see in the Canadian trade, is we ship raw materials to the USA and they send back manufactured goods. They should need and want that to continue, even increase.
