What a scary place the world has become in the last week. Unleashing a dangerous lunatic in a position of power like POTUS is escalating rapidly.

China has deployed long range nuclear weapons to within striking distance of the US to combat Trump's aggression.

Gorbachov says it looks like the world is preparing for war.

Precipitated a diplomatic crisis with Mexico.

Closing the US border to Muslim refugees and immigrants, fuelling increased racial tension around the world.

The State Department’s entire senior administrative team resigned - the people with the knowledge and experience in security, management, administrative and consular positions.

Thankfully people who value liberty and democracy are rising around the world to protest the actions of this madman. Donald Trump’s emotional maturity and stability are being discussed in private by senior members of his own political party. It surely looks like his reign will end in chaos within weeks if not months at this rate.

I'm proud at this moment to be a Canadian and a Scot.

World is not more scary than it was. China has been posturing for a long time and will continue to do so as it fantasizes about being a superpower. I don't see Trump as a madman, only the left does. Mind you they are more scared of Trump success than anything else. Trump has engaged in dialogue with Russia so how exactly has he been promoting war. As far as Mexico is concerned, Mexican exports have increased to the US has increased steadily due to a constantly devaluing peso so hence the trade tensions. The US wishes to reduce illegal immigration and that is a laudable goal so don't see the big issue there. I would do the same if I were POTUS but not sure a wall is the approach I would take. Of course Mexico will not pay for the wall but Trumps proposal to tax monetary transfers back home is not as crazy as all the left wing braying in the media tries to make it out as. If the leftist media could cut the crap, the world would not seem so scary and you could relax. They won't and as such I pay no attention to it.

Maybe start worrying about the oppression your gonna get in canada from your federal gov. instead of fearmongering about another country. Was talking to a fellow manitoban ( winnipeger ) in phoenix the other day, he's a businessman and was saying the federal gov. hired an additional 50-60 accountantants in wpg. alone, to do tax audits on farmers and small businessmen. He got audited ( first time in 38 years ) said they are out to make people pay. And what's this i hear about the gov. wanting to pass a law making it crime to critisize islam? Tell me more about that one, not sure about it.

Looks like the Liberal world isn't very tolerant after all. I'd say every country in the world should focus on their own problems,lord knows we all have them. Looks like USA wants to do it's due dilligence and make sure they don't allow people with beliefs in their culture that actually conflict with western Law. The world shouldn't be so effected by what 1 country does with immigration laws. Or policy. This shows that just maybe the world is too centered on global trade, and afriad of any change because it will hurt someone's wallet in their own family.

Funny how Australia did a lot of things to protect theyre beliefs and way of life and didnt hear any looney tune left wing media idiots saying anything about that. Pretty sure when we drove from Mexico to Guatemala there was a razor wired wall spanning most of the border between those 2 countries. I think Trump may have gone a little too far (green card carriers should be excluded) but he is doing what he said he would. When our families came here they followed the rules of the land and became Canadians. The ones coming now want Canada to change for them. That's wrong. We don't have backbones anymore, we are too scared to offend anyone.

Well, I don't know what the future holds grass. I know I dont like spiders or snakes, but am not afraid of clowns.
In my adult memory I recall the Hitler analogy being used to compare various arguments. Gun control for example. Crowd pyschology perhaps for another. Indeed we are still the same animal we have always been these past 100'000 years. Nothing new there. So yes, it is always possible again.
But this is not Iraq, Rwanda, nor 1930s Europe. To draw similarities of process is one thing. But to compare the North America of today to the actual Holocaust murders is silly.

I get really tired of the left making the Hitler comparisons everytime someone disagrees with them. But the cut and paste sounds a lot like the strategy to demonise/discredit anyone who disagrees with global warming, and public prompts/threats for violence against "deniers", but I don't hear anyone on the side of science making such ridiculous comparisons to the witch hunt on those against AGW. This seems to be exclusive territory of the left. Which does a lot for their credibility.

Grassfarmer, why is it when the left disagrees with what a politician is doing they play the Hitler card? Nazi by the way is short for National Socialist German Workers Party. Hitler no doubt created his own definition of socialism with his radical views on racial purity. Anyway back to the topic at hand, Donald Trump. As far as I can see he is implementing the policies that he ran on. I realize that is odd for a politician. Do I agree with all of them, certainly not, I didn't agree with all of Obama's policies either. In 3-4 years it will be obvious whether Trump is right or Trudeau!
