Something was not adding up with the story right from the start. Cops had two suspects, then one, then news reports named the one, then retracted, then brought it back. Doubtful this is the end of the story.

The whole situation seems odd , as with the timing of all current events and speed of the suspects whole life story. Terrible loss of life .
Good on the police to get the suspect so quickly. Usually it takes weeks / months for personal info to be let out .
This whole Muslim ban and wild airport protests and this shooting have spun out of control very quickly.
Those protesters need to be controlled as well - peaceful my ass. Knocking people out as the go into airports.
Both this far "left" and far "right" ideology b/s needs to be controlled quickly before a lot more unfortunate things happen.
People need to get a grip and stop pushing their agendas down each other's throats . It's only going to lead to more violence all over.

The 15444 character was indicating he looked forward to both the PM and the Ontario premier being shot so I guess that proves him not of sound mind? I agree with you that we are in a dangerous period of raised tensions which could fuel more hatred - that was the topic on which I initiated this post. I respect our neighbour's choice of democratically elected Government but I do not respect the actions of that Government when they are throwing fuel on the fire of division, racism and prejudice.
        Wrong again, grassy!

Your choice of words does not define who I am, grassy. Your use of labels is the typical - and ultimately, childishly stupid - tactic of the left whose only way of gaining an advantage in their unsupportable arguments is to try to frame the debate in their language.

Suppose you had a wolf attacking your sheep or cattle - what would you do? Obviously, using your logic, your only option is to let him run wild, because to defend against a wolf would make you a lupophobic. And we all know the social stigma attached to being possessed of lupophobia, right?

Can't have that now, can we grassy! So you let the wolves run wild among your flocks...not because they are harmless, but because you know what the sjws would say. :-)

So glad you came clean on the door lock matter. And of course, we all believe your self-proclaimed openness because, well, we just do, LOL! It's not like you've ever had to prove your trust though, right?

Say grassy, if you're still reading here - can you tell us what is causing this massive displacement of refugees?

Agreed furrowtickler, there is a lot of stuff spinning out of control - a very dangerous period in world history. Perhaps this explanation might shed some light on it?

From Heather Richardson, professor of History at Boston College:
"I don't like to talk about politics on Facebook-- political history is my job, after all...but there is an important non-partisan point to make today.

What Bannon is doing, most dramatically with last night's ban on immigration from seven predominantly Muslim countries-- is creating what is known as a "shock event."

Such an event is unexpected and confusing and throws a society into chaos. People scramble to react to the event, usually along some fault line that those responsible for the event can widen by claiming that they alone know how to restore order.
When opponents speak out, the authors of the shock event call them enemies. As society reels and tempers run high, those responsible for the shock event perform a sleight of hand to achieve their real goal, a goal they know to be hugely unpopular, but from which everyone has been distracted as they fight over the initial event. There is no longer concerted opposition to the real goal; opposition divides along the partisan lines established by the shock event.

Last night's Executive Order has all the hallmarks of a shock event. It was not reviewed by any governmental agencies or lawyers before it was released, and counterterrorism experts insist they did not ask for it. People charged with enforcing it got no instructions about how to do so. Courts immediately have declared parts of it unconstitutional, but border police in some airports are refusing to stop enforcing it.

Predictably, chaos has followed and tempers are hot.
My point today is this: unless you are the person setting it up, it is in no one's interest to play the shock event game. It is designed explicitly to divide people who might otherwise come together so they cannot stand against something its authors think they won't like.

I don't know what Bannon is up to-- although I have some guesses-- but because I know Bannon's ideas well, I am positive that there is not a single person whom I consider a friend on either side of the aisle-- and my friends range pretty widely-- who will benefit from whatever it is.

If the shock event strategy works, though, many of you will blame each other, rather than Bannon, for the fallout. And the country will have been tricked into accepting their real goal.
But because shock events destabilize a society, they can also be used positively. We do not have to respond along old fault lines. We could just as easily reorganize into a different pattern that threatens the people who sparked the event.

A successful shock event depends on speed and chaos because it requires knee-jerk reactions so that people divide along established lines. This, for example, is how Confederate leaders railroaded the initial southern states out of the Union.
If people realize they are being played, though, they can reach across old lines and reorganize to challenge the leaders who are pulling the strings. This was Lincoln's strategy when he joined together Whigs, Democrats, Free-Soilers, anti-Nebraska voters, and nativists into the new Republican Party to stand against the Slave Power.

Five years before, such a coalition would have been unimaginable. Members of those groups agreed on very little other than that they wanted all Americans to have equal economic opportunity. Once they began to work together to promote a fair economic system, though, they found much common ground. They ended up rededicating the nation to a "government of the people, by the people, and for the people."

Confederate leaders and Lincoln both knew about the political potential of a shock event. As we are in the midst of one, it seems worth noting that Lincoln seemed to have the better idea about how to use it."

For every action there will be a reaction.Trump is a loose cannon from sure.

Also strange how the media and pro lefties went right after the suspects supposed Facebook page about being a right wing fanatic because he liked Trump and LePen ....... but never mention that this guy also liked Jack Layton.......
Again not condoning this terrible act just pointing out one sided media reporting.
We seen that locally here this past summer, just seems to be very little common sense anywhere these days .
One just has to look at all these "peacefull" protests the past three weeks and the past few days at U.S. airports - a huge percentage of them are a disgrace to society on many levels causing violence and destruction - very little of that is ever reported on MSM

We know that all faiths, races, nationalities have extremists who are willing to kill in the name of God, country, or race. History is full of examples.

Trump is playing into the hands of Islamic extremist by making it easier to recruit based on Trumps war against Islam.
about as ****ing right as it is for Muslims to kill anybody , some of you guys need to grow up .what a waste of time

You must be including muslims killed by other muslims? Which would be the vast majority.

Note also since 9/11 no American has been killed on US soil by a terrorist from any of the banned countries.
If anyone was really interesting in addressing the greatest threat to Americans they'd be going after the NRA.
