We have shitty roads....the highway infrastructure budget has been exaggerated because of graincos who haven't built to the railways requirements.

They were told years ago to have 112 or 134 car spots....meanwhile they sit with 30 and 50 car spots that won't get service.....so the grain goes by super b down the highway to another terminal.

Wall could easily get rid of a level of beauracracy where people are earning 200k.

There is no talent within the mlas or beauracracy.

Nice twist sask3 the NDs did it all , when will you grow up and admit the oil, grain,highways,crooked politicions,healthcare , are not a ND thing its poor goverment and it will never change as long as you all keep making excuses for them. AS in your chosen party. It sure will be interesting to see in say 2 yr whitch party got it right.

Retired, it is an ndp thing, have a look at manitobas finances while the ndp were in govt from 1999 to 2015. Spend spend spend, with no results, just lots of govt workers and happy unions

Ive been thinking a lot about this budget

Sask has 1.15 million people
Ab has 3.5 million people

We have a 1.2 billion deficit
Ab has a 12 billion deficit

Sask is looking at taxes and cuts
Ab is spending and taxing

I will still take this govt over the NDP. I can only imagine what they would have spent the previous surplus budgets on. If history is any indication, it would have gone to unions and inner cities.

Things will turn around. I'm thinking it will be made up by 50% tax hikes and 50% drop in spending

Going by these numbers the NDP is 3-4 times worse financially....and this is BEFORE their Alberta carbon tax kicks in.
In Saskatchewan we have very obvious examples of how the NDP kills a province in our long history, Manitobas 20 year reign of terror that just ended and now with Notley and her carbon taxers.
Now with low oil and potash prices, the Sask Party obviously has to do some major chopping....hopefully no new taxes.
Where to start?
Liquor Stores
Cut all green energy plans
Cut all government MLA salaries and benefits and pension obligations where possible
Put a freeze on hiring government workers and don't replace retirees
Decrease University funding
Freeze teachers salaries.
Are SaskTel and SGI on the table?
Bring in lean for universities and schools.

There are lots of areas and bloated government departments to cut.

Don't forget to ADD to their spending total the 1.5 Billion that WAS IN the Rainy Day fund when they took over.
It's long gone, probably baby face Bill moved it to His account. Lol

So Oliver, All the Areas where You think the money could be clawed in from ? Guess what Non of them had anything to do with the mess we're in. We were Resource Rich But Royalty POOR and the govt went crazy on mega projects . 400 million bypass is now over 1 billion. The French company who got it even has the Snow removal contract. wTF !

Don't get me started on our 1.5 billion investment in the buggy whip company. (Clean Coal)

You want to talk about something....talk about the ****en sacred cow of elephants in the room...HEALTH CARE! How dare I bring this up? There is huge abuse in the healthcare system....every ****ing level! The revolving door of Dr's offices, overpaid staff, prescription drug patents.....

What percent of every tax dollar goes to "health care" in Sask? Talk about a bloated bureaucracy!
