So if one could just decide they want to take up residence anywhere they would like, whenever they would like, where would you like to go for a couple of years or more if it pleased you?

I think I would like to go to The South of France or Greece, than maybe Equador for a couple of years. What a fun world it would be especially if they would support me, house me, educate me and provide free health care.

Klause you are full of BS when it comes to Chilean history. Allende was a democratatically elected socialist. His policies certainly move Chile to the far left. But your claims of terror are unfounded.

With the help of the CIA he was overthrown in a coup and replaced by Augusto Pinochet who was a brutal dictator.

"From the start of the new military government harsh measures were implemented.[10] During the period of Pinochet's rule, various investigations have identified the murder of 1,200 to 3,200 people with up to 80,000 people forcibly interned and as many as 30,000 tortured.[11][12][13] According to the Chilean government, the official number of deaths and forced disappearances stands at 3,095.[14]

While you and I may have not supported Allende's socialist platfom you would have to be a fascist to support Pinochet.

"Pinochet was arrested under an international arrest warrant on a visit to London on 10 October 1998 in connection with numerous human rights violations. Following a legal battle he was released on grounds of ill-health, and returned to Chile on 3 March 2000. In 2004, Chilean Judge Juan Guzmán Tapia ruled that Pinochet was medically fit to stand trial and placed him under house arrest.[8] By the time of his death on 10 December 2006, about 300 criminal charges were still pending against him in Chile for numerous human rights violations during his 17-year rule, and tax evasion and embezzlement during and after his rule;[18] he was accused of having corruptly amassed at least 28 million USD.[19] Despite the indictment and 300 charges, he only served time in house arrest. "

Numerous Chilean refugees were settled in Canada. I met one who had indeed suffered torture.

              Statement From The Conservative Party
              November 24, 2015

              For immediate release

OTTAWA – The Honourable Michelle Rempel, Official Opposition Critic for Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, today responded to the Liberal Government’s announcement regarding plans to resettle 25,000 Syrian refugees in Canada:

“Canada is an open and generous country. Canada should continue to take an active role in assisting with the humanitarian crisis in the region.

“Refugees arriving in Canada should be welcomed with open arms and the full confidence of all Canadians. Mr. Trudeau’s campaign promise to resettle 25,000 refugees by December 31 did not include a comprehensive plan for safety, security, housing, health and integration into the Canadian family.

“We are pleased that Mr. Trudeau has today listened to Canadians and abandoned a timeline that was not workable. Any resettlement plan must allow for the full integration of refugees as welcomed members of Canadian society.

“Last January our Conservative Government announced a commitment to resettle an additional 10,000 Syrian refugees. Pursuant to that commitment, approximately 10,000 refugees had either been processed or were in the final stages of processing. That work gives the current government a tremendous head start in aiding Syrian refugees.

“Today’s announcement by the Liberals still leaves Canadians with many unanswered questions about plans for caring for refugees upon arrival, and specifically, the real costs of the plan, impacts on provincial governments, and the involvement of our Canadian Armed Forces.

“We believe it is also imperative that Canada stand shoulder to shoulder with our allies in the mission to degrade ISIS. We continue to call on the Liberal government to reverse its position and ensure the Royal Canadian Air Force remains engaged in the fight against ISIS.”

I love how you you and the rest of the lefties want to rewrite history. My family lived through that HELL

He wasn't a socialist. He was was a Marxist and believed that socialism had to be brought in by any means necessary.

Pinochle was the reaction and he had vast support from the public.

Much like leftist liberals today trying to push their agenda down everyone's throats... what was the reaction? TRUMP.

you can copy and paste all you want it doesn't change things that happened.

The above statement on refugees by the federal Conservatives shows a lot of support for refugees on humanitarian grounds.

Again this shows clearly that many agriville posters are far right extremists who are out of touch with mainstream Canadians.

We should be concerned about our national security, but we can also accept lots of refugees who are low risk without any worry.

Since we are a nation of immigrants and refugees, I find it odd that many agriville posters are so entitled and arrogant that they think that they are the only ones that work hard and contribute to society.

chuck, how come you're not reporting about the far left extremists that are rioting and attacking people in the u.s.? Or how about the far left extremists in canada who are attacking reporters who they disagree with? Or are you ok with that? The people who are showing intolerance to other people's opinions are people like you, the far left. People like you are causing unrest and intolerance. I have no interest in living like you think i should live, people like you would impose your ideals on the whole population given the chance. You are intolerant.
