Now apparently there are two new grain terminals to be built in the Vegreville AB area. Both Grains Connect and Viterra think there is enough grain in the region to support large brand new terminals. This after Cargill just dismantled one in town two years ago. It was a smaller facility but it did have several concrete silos which were all torn down. The grain handling business is hard to understand at times.

I read in a paper that G3 wants to build some new terminals as well....I think they would like to have them ready about the same time as their new west coast port terminal. Anyone read that?
Must be money in grain handling and buying now!
The Cargill thing is a head scratcher.....are they junk? Did somebody save Raymore Sask's Cargill facility?
Loop tracking is increasing efficiency but you need reliable rail service and storage capacity to make the most of it.Last edited by farmaholic; Feb 25, 2017, 21:52.
