Someone asked the question - Why does the MSM have such a hate on for Donald Trump.

The reply was - Because the media lived in their own little bubble for decades and Donald Trump just pricked their bubble.

That appears to be the best summary given to date. Can anyone imagine what all would have been revealed if the media would similarly throw under the microscope the lives of the Obamas, Clintons, Trudeaus or even the Bushes?

For example - former Prime Minister Stephen Harper, whose supposed "warts" were magnified into carbuncles by a deranged CBC herd of swine and a cross-eyed and myopic Toronto Star with its mostly effette group of "reporters" who are really no more than a bunch of irritating cling-ons.

But those other twisted sisters all kiss up to the besotted, left-wing MSM, so they are given a get-out-of-jail-free card.

Our political beliefs are made up of what we have seen.... When socialists kill your neighbours it's hard to be a socialist. When a corporation fires your mom/dad/husband/wife/kid and they fall on hard times, can't find a job, bank takes their home, etc etc. It's hard to be a conservative/capitalist.

You need a balance, unfortunately how you get a balance is by swinging too far one way, then too far the other way....

The problem is a lot of idiots (I mean people who think they can stand on the moon and drop a rock on earth by, like, dropping it) "think" they lean to the left because it "sounds" better to them, even though they have no idea what they actually support.

I know true socialists/liberals that are very well informed and can debate with the best of the conservatives/capitalists...

If I might add, the least informed is neither the left or right leaning. It is the person who only seeks out and follows the media which validates his preconceived ideas. The person who refuses to listen to the CBC or Fox News (depending on your views) because one or the other is always lying.

On the other hand the best informed person is the one who actually seeks out views contrary to their own and continually challenges their own beliefs by actually listening and questioning those with differing views. Best informed are open minded enough to realize there is another side to every argument and be willing to listen to those stating a differing position.

Idiots are those who accept anything and everything they read or hear without knowing where the information is coming from and what the bias of the presenter is (everyone has a bias). So many times I have seen a satire news site quoted as fact! Unfortunately satire and fake news sites are growing exponentially and it is becoming ever more difficult to tell what is real news and what is fake. Fake news is even being justified now under the title Alternative Facts. There is no such thing!

Yes good post Klause. It is a mistake not to understand all sides of the issue and accept that not everyone will share your point of view or have the same values as you or I.

Thankfully we live in a country where people are more tolerant and civil. But that can never be taken for granted.

Yes chucky most read and listen to the news and dissect the info and make their own minds up but when the media does same bs story over and over sooner or later the mass fall for it that's the problem. CBC run stories that favour the libs because they always send them more money.

Debate, from both sides, the merits of higher taxes versus lower taxes. Be open minded about open markets. Be as critical of liberals as you are of conservatives. Be bi-partisan. BTW SF3, I don't think liberals send much money to CBC or even most things they support. Usually they want government or others to pay for what they are spouting.
