    Friday cocktail and travel tips!

Well the cocktail this week is what I like for sipping.

    It's real easy

Buy a big bottle of fireball.

We pay 19 USA for a 66 but no health care.

    Get a whisky glass
    Fill to top with ice
Pour dab of water add more ice.
Now pour fireball over ice and fill glass right to brim.
    Stir.
Sip it is a nice end of the day calm down. You sleep awesome.

Hey just got in late late last night some times the flyer looks so much better than the actual event. Did a casino boat tour well that's twelve hours I'll never get back. Broke even but really it's almost as bad as a time share presentation. Which is today's topic.

We bought lots back in 2008 during the crash so a little different than most. Basically our winter is almost covered so entering these presentations some times is just walk in sit down oh can we sell this and we say no and your out here is your 200, 100, free rooms, discount coupons for island etc.

The next it's like wow that's three hours I'll never get back.

It's rather easy they get you with a nice breakfast or lunch. First they get a credit card from you so they know your good, then that it's you and your spouse, now a Women is usually the first person who does small talk, oh your a farmer my grandfather was one, oh your a nurse my mom is one, oh your a janitor well my uncle is one. After you eat they show you vacation video then take you in a golf cart and show you a cheap condo then the top condo.
Now they bring you back to another building full of chairs and tables you sit with them and they give the first top system.

All along its all happy happy happy you need a vacation it's needed in life blah blah blah.
You say no so she then asks why, some times they try to make you feel small etc. The next is today we can do it for this , again you say no again same thing blah blah,.

What about the shitty condo which still is great just not the top notch. They do it all over again you say no and push the paper back.

She finally leaves and gets the release but it's still not over a new hard salesman shows up try's again and this is getting close to the end. You stay calm he will try every angle to get you just listen look at the paper and push it back and say thanks.

He finally leaves the girl comes back and it's to the payment desk. This girl try's a quick come back again deal and one last time and it's your 200 cash and your on your way. $63.00 hr and hopefully your good.

Now that's a typical system, one we never do these off the street in Mexico it does get ugly. Some times they have a rough guy but it's usually easy to check with trip advisor if their are comments on bad presentation that's a red flag. Some times it's worth going to get more information. You can learn lots form these people it is a great way to stay in some real nice condos for min dollars if you buy right.

Think about it why not be the guy staying at a Weston or Hyatt or Marriott in a two bedroom 1500 plus sq ft condo doing all like they guys who spent $30.000.00 or more.

Key is resale where families have a grandfather who had one selling do to estate and you get for $3000.00 full deed. You have one week out of 50 you own don't do every second year, search for peak season and then the lowest maintenance fees you can get.

Ski resort has no air conditioning which has a high cost but snow removal can kill you. Ours are in mid climate zones but trading power is unbelievable. One example a studio in sandiego on main beach in city by the army base July 4 week. Gives us three weeks in Hawaii for half a hotel in weyburn.

So yes it's not for every one but with Internet, resale and understanding it's like owning a condo in Palm Springs, Scott's dale, Orlando, Hawaii, ski lodge Texas, Vegas or anywhere.

Lots of info try one search Internet and enjoy.

    Off to flea market.

best one I heard was a guy that dressed like an old farmer went to a time share thing. They asked him what he liked to do.?he said just ice fishing.nothing else?Nope.Do you like it down here in the sun?Nope I hate it here. Why are you here?Kids gave me the trip for Christmas.Salesman has no time shares for ice fishing and he hates warm climate not much left to to but give him his money and tell him to get out of here.

You are right about timeshares.. "They aren't for everyone" I bought my first in 1989, 2 weeks for $1800.00.. then during the American downturn bought a week in Maui and another in Orlando.. $1300.00 for Maui and $1000.00 for Orlando.. because we did it from sunny Sask.. the paperwork was a pain.. But I have had them for a long time and they have payed for themselves many times over.. with the 4 weeks, if we plan ahead we can get at least double that amount of time out of them.. and that is what makes timeshare owning work, planning ahead, if u want to go to a certain area/resort u might not get it unless u start a search at least 6 months ahead.... I usually try to get my winter vacation set up by June.. for a Feb holiday.

Because I paid very little for the property I get to stay in 2 and 3 bedroom suites at 5 Star resorts for about $120.00 CND a night. Family and friends are very happy to get an invite, and we are Happy to have them.

If U want all inclusive travel then don't buy a Timeshare. I did get a deal through RCI for a one week cruise.. outside stateroom for 2 with a balcony.. just over $350.00 each.. in the end it wasn't so cheap flights were expensive and we did a lot of tours... but it was worth it.

Once we were taken in by some googly-eyed nerdie type on the Vegas strip. Bait was free seafood buffets. Boring, scarey trip down the elevator with a goon and the restaurant with the buffet was closed for construction. Never Again - no matter if they give me keys to an Alpha Romeo.

We like the Vegas comps. Free accomodation, food, show tickets and players cash. There is M-Life (Bellagio) +,Caesars + Crazie (Venetian-Palazzo) + Station (Red Rock) + Imagine + Tropicana plus many more. We met a farmer from Saskatoon who spends the winters there on comps. Gotta take a little cash along, but the buffets are great and shows every evening, can't complain at all -just gotta move every 3 days. You can usually finish in the money in invitational poker tournies ($300 ish).
