22 year Olds spend on average 4 years

On social assistance? Able bodied 22 year Olds have no place even being able to access social programs!

I've been paying tax since 16 and working my ass off for this?

We've created a socialist monster... and nobody in power has the balls to cut its head off.

Maybe instead of increasing taxes cut useless spending.

      Totally agree

Further yet we need people that run things to have new ideas. For example education. So many kids in schools have no ambition or desire or skills to be doctors or lawyers but might find a niche with other skills and develop good skills for good jobs welding, carpentry, engineering to the point where right out of high school they are capable of going to work. Instead so many just pass through without any consequences for failing which no one is failed any more. Taking class that have no bearing on the real world. And a piece of paper that is worthless. Many then can t afford to go on get training so they have to work low paying jobs just to survive and never get potential of what they could contribute. It's kinda dumb.

Some of this is parent's fault as well. Kids being cellar dwellers and playing online video games all night....too tired to go to work or school. Talk about living in a fantasy.....talk about a low birth rate, hard to procreate when you're fighting off someone else through a make belief on line game instead of persuing and "conquering" the opposite sex.

Yet the foreign kids or even non caucasian dometics are here for the opportunity that ours are too lazy to do or persue, or they are above doing certain jobs!

          No one fails attitude

          Unaccountable

Cell phones and kids have been in many ways a real problem.

Bullying, gaming garbage, and no interest in doing real activities.

Yes it is a parental problem because many of those parents were raised that way also.

But there are also many kids that lose interest in being productive because they take useless classes that have no meaning year after year. Find a way to get them out and trained and able to work earlier.

Maybe if you don't have a certain grade you can't use your cell phone. Lol.

What's being done now isn't working well.

30 kids in a classroom doesn't work either.

Education needs to be changed to engage the kids who want to work with their hands in the trades agriculture or many of the hands on jobs that produce goods or services. Today it is all about university and getting a degree which most of the time is nothing. The professors at these universities only care about a big paycheck and spewing a lot of their left wing crap on the students and some of them even though they have book smarts are so socially and morally retarded they shouldn't be shaping the minds of young people. The govt spends way too much on secondary education and most of it goes to paying wages and the never ending expansion projects of universities. Student tuitions are high enough that the govt shouldn't have to kick in money. It's time society realizes that people who actually contribute to society should be rewarded and not some prick in a suit who does nothing.

Lot of young in no hurry for drivers license. Check out Mike Rowes' campaign. Ever watch his dignity of work lecture?

Is that current 22 yr Olds will spend four years on it or they have?

How is that even possible... Most haven't or shouldn't have been in the workforce full time for barely four years!

Granddaughter turned 16, went for driver's license. Now Grampa spent many hours taking her for driving lessons, emphasized caution, look twice, don't hit a pedestrian, no matter what. Well, she comes back from her test, Failed. Too cautious, let jay-walker cross therefore encouraging him, didn't let her parallel park. It was the Monday after the storm, streets covered in ice and snow banks. Not a big deal but now Gramma is gonna teach her, see if that works, lol.

People just have to phone into Social Services - no need to look the intake worker in the eye and convince them of your need plus many over-lapping programs that are figured out in a hurry. I was happy to see the Minister's ( Beaudry-Mellor) newspaper article in Leader Post saying she will get into the problems there. Finally!
