How about North American standards for grade and testing....to better use the transport system....we have paper walls in place that are hindering cross border trade and commerce.

All these levies we pay and pay and no one to straighten out the grading issues on wheat and now the fumigant issue with pulses. Useless as ...... finish the statement.

Excuse me?? Aren't the directors of this organization elected by the farmers growing wheat in Saskatchewan? Democracy much?

The wheat growers had one agenda and that was to get rid of the CWB. Now that that has happened all they do is go on free trips to "lobby" aka drink whiskey with their buddies in Ottawa and go tour everything from flour mills to machine manufacturing plants. If their members want to keep paying for a membership so that their board can go travel around then have at it. Most of the directors come from farms where daddy or brother stay home and do the work that allows them to parade around spending someone else's money.

Grass - ask a sask wheat director how many spoiled ballots there were last election and after the no comment black stare period you will have your democracy answer.

And the checkoffs are not all useless as you assert Sum. Having been there once, so many issues are way more complex to solve than they first appear. The pulse fume issue is exactly that.

You can please some of the people some of the time..I guess that's the takeaway.

If we were to weed out of this thread people who dont grow grain.
Next those who have never been to a few AGMs of any org.
And if you like, perhaps those who've never chatted with the suits, be they foriegn buyers, international shippers, or our competition.
I suspect that would leave a mere few behind.

CArbon tax, CGC, CGC grading, budgets, transportation, op eds in countless newspapers could go on and on. All with 1 staff member, a volunteer board and voluntary paid memberships.
I agree they have done a good job should. Most comission and boards are yes men. Not wheat growers

You don't know anything about the WG. Every trip we make is on our own dime. Never been paid a per diem either. Ever. WG is not a commission. As for touring a manufacturing plant and mills that was at convention. Never been to a convention? Where you pay a registration fee? Lastly what business is it of yours if other family members stay at home to work? Any type and number of arrangements could be made. What a ridiculous comment. Shows what type of person you really are. Enough said really
