It is much more popular to spend your childrens legacy, ask Notley. The nearly 11 billion dollar deficit she will run will add to the debt of Alberta, push forward the loss, someone else's problem, and hope for better times. Spending others money is surprisingly easy these days.

The Ralph Klein roll back would have been a better bet, but obviously different times.

Debt is all the rage these days, pass it on; pass it on, it's like that a game of cards, chase the ace. We are all at the table in some way, the whole world is.

Wait a second ....wall is passing it on .....how come none of the province's additional population or business that wall brags about is making a difference?

      He's passing it on....

Let's go get some more fly by night oil companies to leave a few more abandoned wells to clean up....wasn't that what he was trying to talk Justin into for a make work project?

I should ask Trump if he wants a Wall.

The push for jobs caused our present problem. Jobs were suppose to provide the taxes for government to build the province's infrastructure the hundreds of thousands of new people would need. Everything else was to be given away royalty free. The jobs disappeared in the bust, the infrastructure wasn't paid for, and the result is the 2017 provincial budget.

Because our premier hasn't changed his strategy, I think I would give Trump a Wall.

I find Brad Wall a little hypocritical at this time...

He was saying carbon tax would be bad for farms. On my farm the cost of Carbon tax would have been $7500 - $10000. Then this budget comes out and between PST, fuel exemption roll back and school taxes the cost to our farm will be closer to $18000.

Then there is the business friendly government. As many of you know I have been involved in a commodity hub project at Weyburn. This budget potentially raises the cost of the project by $4.5 million dollars. That means we have to find another 50 or more investors and or it eats up 2 years net profits.

I just don't get it. I have been a Wall fan, and I understand the need to keep the province in a good financial position. This budget doesn't make sense to me, seems to have very little thought put into it.

Same old same old, Conservative politicians claiming to know how to run a province or country with fiscal prudence. I guess you guys in Sask could have it worse, here in Manitoba our Premier promised to reduce the PST, but now will do it only when he balances the budget. Sure, what ever you say Brian, some dough heads will by that. Now he holidays two months a year in Costa Rica and justifies it by saying his 10 months a year are equal to others Manitoban's 12 months. I guess when Brian compares himself to the other PC MLAs sitting around him, that statement could be true! I hope there's no flooding in Manitoba this spring, I wouldn't want him to cut his holiday short.

                  Mbratrud

On principal you should make a couple calls to see if Manitoba , Alberta or a northern tier state would be interested in your project......

Wall seems like he is a different man when you see him in the media scrums lately.... looks like he lost his confidence and positive attitude/outlook, I guess a 1.3 billion dollar deficit will do that to you. Back peddling on some of the Ag related budget decisions would buy him some grace from that sector. What would have jacking up the resource royalties a modest amount netted the Province?

                          (R5..... "Trent Tablespoon".... lol.)
