Bay street investors and last resort lenders never a presence here.
Assinaboia Land Corp used to buy land from farmers and rent it back to them. There was a Sask young farmer of the year couple who won the award on this business model. I don't know exactly how it worked out.
Ultimately ALC sold the land it owned to the Ontario Teachers Pension Fund at the peak of the market. They have plenty of cash so they became Input Capital Corp. continuing their pursuit of redistribution of wealth.

We had some meetings in different communities regarding Comtrax back in Dec. Some Lloyd guy from Input Cap showed up at a our first meeting and stood up at the end and gave himself a plug.
After the meeting we indicated that his actions were not appropriate.
He followed us to the next meeting where he proceeded to hand out brochures at our meeting.
When we asked him not to do that he showed up at our 3rd meeting, and put packages under everyone's windshield wipers.
Finally at our fourth meeting we asked him to kindly leave he wasn't welcome.
I did admire his persistence not a marketing tactic I find very tasteful.
They provide a service no different than the payday loan and check cashing companies. But a contract with them is like one with Rumpelstiltskin IMHO

They are simply a pay day loan or Guido with a big stick actually for a broken hand you might get a better deal with guido if you can't pay it back but don't miss the second or its cement shoes.
They took down Morris but their was other issues.
Checked latest sales for the four area RMs and wow they have another NE of US about a hour on 12 quarters and their partner in crime sits on their board of directors. Oh what a group.

Excellent management, frugality and good crops is the only way to come out alive
That's of course depending what a guy spends the bankroll on to begin with

When scumbag companies like input capital start to show up you know there is a downturn coming to ag. It's just like the land companies show up just before the boom in ag. We are in an industry that is manipulated by a few big players and the govt to suit what they need to make money. Big business can't let farmers get too powerful so every few years we have to go through boom and bust cycles so they can control us otherwise if we get too much power we will control the food supply and whoever controls the food controls the world.
