It's funny how scientists know exactly how warm and much carbon was in the atmosphere millions of years ago but they can't predict weather with any accuracy 1 or 2 days out but we should believe climate change bullshit 100%.

Pre history theories have changed and evolved many times in the last century. But this time we are so absolutely correct that any questions invoke complete scorn. Sounds like some would rather be heros of the world for leading the way. Me I'd rather keep my standard of living secure while participating.

GrassFarmer and ChuckChuck, I suppose I didn't really expect you to read my disclaimer about weather vs. climate, and obviously you disregarded it. I said nothing about global climate or temperatures, just local observable conditions which we all have to tolerate, and against which we are constantly preached about changing our evil ways. Few of us have travelled enough, or been alive long enough to comprehend global climate change, but we all know the conditions out our front door every day, days like today even more so.
And on days like today, I offer my respect and sympathies to people such as yourself who want to tell the rest of us that this type of weather is preferable to warmer. Put aside science, global views, historical context, etc. because none of that helps a cold wet calf born in snow in the end of April, and go tell a Canadian farmer that he needs to sacrifice because this is better, not an enviable job.
It is likely a much easier sell if you happen to be in Bangladesh, they would be very open to the idea of Canadian farmers sacrificing, and sending money there, to a place where warming would be a genuine threat, but you've chosen instead to educate Canadian farmers, not an enviable position on a day like today, you get full points for not choosing the easy road.

There is very little point discussing this issue when many of you don't believe in science and evidence based decision making.

So when gas prices were 1.50 per liter was your standard of living reduced significantly? I think the oil patch and Alberta were pretty happy when oil was over $100 per barrel and gas was 1.50. Were you expressing the same kind of concern about consumers transfer of wealth to the oil industry and the loss in disposable income? Or was that okay?

I don't like the term Global Warming. It allows people an opening to focus on a narrow perspective.
The proper term is Climate Change.
Now nobody can deny the climate changes by itself, we know that. What I don't get is how anyone can even begin to try and think that people haven't contributed to it this time around. Within pretty much 200 years, a very short period of time relatively speaking, look at all the aerosols and gases we've released in the name of progress and convenience. The world cannot react to fast changes well, that's why the theorized meteor wiped out dinosaurs and why Vesuvius had such a global impact when it erupted and why the ice age saw the extinction of many species. Evolution doesn't happen fast enough for the speed of the change at times, and we're contributing to speeding up the change. That's all but that's enough for many ecosystems.
Just look at the effect we've had on bacteria and their resistance and we've only been using antibiotics in wider use since what, the 40's or 50's?
Or how about a farmer metaphor. A nice, healthy pasture that can handle 20 cows and has 20 cows on it is productive and beautiful. Put 1000 cows on that pasture and it's destroyed. Now apply that to the population of people and the Earth. Not all changes are visible to the naked eye, just because you can't see it, doesn't mean it isn't happening.
You can leave the politics out of it, because everyone has different opinions on how to handle things, but to deny we're having an effect on climate is an act of blindness and denial to me.

"Then think about the rest of the world - places where they may hit 37C more often instead of 30C and where hundreds of millions live by subsistence agriculture."

Agrivillers, ever notice that when predictions, that these envirozealots have made, based on their own constructed computer models, fail to come true as they have predicted, they're not happy for the world!
The dire results they convinced the public, politicians and children, that were going to happen around the world are nowhere near what they predicted, by scale or timeline,,,,,they never seem to be happy or rejoice that their predictions failed and things aren't as bad as they predicted.
When these leftists, tree hugging, environazis get good news because their predictions have failed, they're still not happy!
Yes,,,I can call all you leftists', "environazis",,,,for just as long as you continue to call anyone who questions the junk science,,,"deniers".
