    Frost watch

Just like how a watched pot will never boil I am keeping my eyes on the temp tonight hoping it doesn't freeze....or freeze too hard that is.

Hope those Little canola soldiers are ready for cool night.

yikes...electronic weather gauge reporting -4.1 at 1:26. Down the road about 10 minutes...-5.8C....that is harsh...even the durum is not going to like that.

looks like may have gained a bit of cloud cover temp bounced up a bit to -3.4 for us.

Looks like Lewvan Sedley area some of the coldest temps i can see -6.7 right now.

North of Fort Quappelle also recording some low temps -5.7 currently.

South of Regina coldest seems more like the -3.5 to -4 range in a number of spots

Wow, big area on the prairies with a heavy frost. A lot of canola will be up. The big question now what does a guy reseed to?

Canola , If damage not too severe spray 2 litre / ac of alpine and a shot of Matador 3-4 days from now to keep bug pressure off and stimulate growth.
For whatever reason seed treatments are ineffective for a while after a frost .
Done this a few times and recovery is twice as fast .
Releaf does work as well as a few others but 2 lt/ac Alpine works and is half the price .

Interesting strategy, kill everything. And for good measure, a dusting of coal dust.

0 at 10 pm last night and -6 at 5:20 am, how much damage to emerged crops, that will be the 40 million dollar question.
