Case 500 Stx 700 display questions

We have a 2013 case 500 with 700 display

Our gps and hydraulics keep getting codes and shutting down

Some of the codes that come up in corner post

Colour display offline

EHR Fault


Engine fault code


On 700 display

Nav ii not connected

If we turn tractor on and off
Unplug 700 display
Take relays out that control display and put back in and switch with other relays that are cool
Most times relays are warm

This seems to help temporarily

We can go for days with no trouble then we can be shut down for hours some days

Redhead came our to take a look and we had just changed relays and it was working when they were here and they could not find problem

We tried a different gps receiver from combine and it did not help

Any suggestions

It seems to act up more when we move away from our Gps line to fill seed or do headlands
And when we come back to our gps line it starts with the codes


We would have done 400+ more acres to date if we have not had these issues

The relays and fuses are inside buddy seat

It seams to help if we keep the buddy seat open to keep it cooler

We also replace the thumb drive in 700 display and it did not help

Newer vintage than ours...
Does engine go to idle? Maybe armrest controller, however would not explain GPS problem
There are passive terminals that can do weird things when failing. Sorry not really much help.

Weird.engine fault would be def.
EHR is that a remote failed.

Screw the electronics. Let the equipment manufacturers experiment on their own time.

The electronic stuff is nice when it works but sure is stressfull when it's not.

When it works periodically and it always works when service comes out to look at and stops when they are not here is hard to dignose

I know this is a simple thing to say but check all the grounds, this maybe a corrosion issue .

Its nice when it works but you lost 400 acres of seeding productivity. I dont understand the value/efficiency in this. 400 acres means in total hours that has to be about 12 hours of troubleshooting. What happens if it starts to rain and it gets late?

We cleaned battery posts and grounds did not help

The redhead tech line knows me on a first name basis already.

I have been talking with redhead service more than I talk with my wife lately.

Most likely is a simple problem but have to find it

Redhead service was out for a few hours a while back and could not find anything

We have had a local mechanic out a few times and he could not find anything except for changing the relays out which helps temporarily

It has been acting up since May 6th some days are bad then we won't have any trouble for 2-3 days then some days it might happen one time
Then some days it happens several times.

Clean the ground cable from the battery to the frame and also clean the ground on rh front of engine block.

Jag we just had some problems with our 4wd (of the same series) too.

Eventually the " SCR warning " came up. Check out page 4-19 in your manual. The controller needed to be replaced (located in the front right fender), apparently they quit working, ours was replaced with only 2 weeks left on warranty.

Could be crystals in the line from the controller to the injector(under engine hood).

DEF may have crystalized over winter in your DEF supply tank.

Was loosing power and the warning eventually came up in the corner post display.

We also had a EHR fault, was total it's likely the in cab lever the you use to move the hydraulics. Something they have to do as it will need programing. We just don't use that lever as there are 5 others.

Redhead made a visit here too, ouch!

Agree with checking all grounds, had a problem with combine in the past ,took awhile to find it .It was a bad ground in wiring harness mid-frame. Was always putting error codes up.

Replace the two terminators...was having similar issues and it cured it.
