If your planning to spray peas in this area , better hold off till the end of the week now with certain herbicides

were going to need until oct . here because I'm sure people will keep seeding . I would imagine scic will extend the deadlines. canary seed is June 1 , hrsw and flax is June 6 and canola June 8th but too wet to seed doesn't kick in until June 20 . not sure how that works . barley is a waste of time to grow .cant even call it a rotation . these guys that thought they were smart buying feed barley for $2-3 will not think theyre so smart when there's none in the ground and their pigs are hungry . we had a few loads at a pig barn for a good price , guess it was too good a price because when we delivered it they said vomi was too high . funny thing we hauled 10 loads to 2 elevators off the same field and it was well under the 1% . I think the one elevator even sold the same barley of ours to the same pig barn .and I had to sit there for 2 hrs in the pigshit . guess they think it's just a f$&King farmer , they can do what they want . f$&k them from now on

Don't blame you for being pissed off , those kinda games get played on farmers way too often.

Warmer for the week ahead, finally
Looks like there is agreement among forecasts on moisture for SK on Friday. Widespread 1 or 2 tenths with heavier amounts in the SE.

Had same experience with our local feed mill. It's a close haul so decided I'd take a few 3 ton loads there. Last load was too high vomi, elevator still took it though. I hadn't hauled to them since the year they went bankrupt and screwed over I don't know how many area farmers and don't plan in taking anymore there again now. Also I like getting paid right away not their bullshit waiting 3-4 weeks. F&ck them. PS their barn raised pork tastes like crap as well.

On site vomi test isnt fool proof. Hauled 10 straight to a feed mill, all undetectable vomi levels. On the 11th load, the first test was so high, it would have been impossible for a second or even third negligable test to bring the average level down to acceptable levels.

Regulations said I was supposed to be turned back. Had i been hauling the load for a broker and not myself I likely would have been pushing the broker to find the load a new home. I argued and protested until i talked one of the younger guys running the mill that day into testing each hopper so i disnt have to take the whole load home. All came back undetectable. The original sample, was then retested, and also came back negative.

Ive never had it happen again, but false positives are definitely possible.

he got everywhere from 1.4 - 3.5 on the same f$&King sample . he couldn't see a problem with that kind of variance ?? sent same sample in and came back at .9 . dumped load at elevator and was .9 . the only problem with the barley was that it was contracted at too high of price for them I think
