There isn't a whole lot of wheat or durum in the country it appears to be all lentils and canola and there is some ugly looking stuff out there.

The Durum crop looks like shit this year. It did not take the stress nearly as well as hrsw. She aint pretty... funny how the crops on the lighter land to north look better. Bto's that pushed every last shelter belt are wishing they hadnt this year. Crop sure is nice in comparison where it had a little wind protection.

That is probably why PFRA was started after the dirty thirties. Old timers tell stories of a hen with chicks foraging for food around farmyard, would come back with fewer chicks because they were entirely covered with blowing dirt.

We are shipping wheat in containers, 13.8% and higher protein necessary for the premium.
Great prices absolutely saved us from the abyss of cheap wheat, but (teehee) I have to say still waiting for the 10$ wheat promised in 1974, patient as we are, the lower dollar all in, well would it not be nice. Every dog has its day, hope we get to enjoy this poodle.

We are shipping wheat to the feedlot.
July 2016 over 7 inches of rain, average daily humidity rarely under 70%.

Don't forget to sign New crop contracts.....give them what they want, you carry the risk.....production, price, quality, storage....! How can they forward sell something they don't know what the quality or cost of is yet? Enter Producer! So you sell them some new crop based on specific quality parameters....and you get dealt with after the "facts" are known and have basically no recourse but to accept the "premiums and discounts" presented to you, oh ya, and then what are your options?

Weber's newsletter had NDVI maps in it that don't look good for Western Canada and the northern tier wheat states. This rally could be the small build up to the main attraction of fireworks yet to come. Lots of good and bad can and will happen but how it all plays out in the end will be interesting.

I may have missed an opportunity but I think most of you know my sentiments.

When analyzing the wheat market analysts tend to view it in isolation. However foodstuffs are said to be elastic item meaning substitutions by the consumer are often made due to price. The broad index of real world food stuffs has soared 14% in two months. Tensions are ramping up btw Russia and the USA in Syria, the middle class is dying, gluten free craze is fading. All bullish macro factors imho.

If anyone thinks that wheat prices have moved up too much,,,,take 15 seconds and look at a monthly chart for HRSW on the MGE.
