good luck sustaining a 20 percent deal. 60 upfront would be a steal compared to 20 percent.

Cash rent varies from $60.00/acre to $149.00/acre. Expect to see lentils on lentil stubble and canola on canola stubble when you rent out. Very good farmers, very good crops. A couple years ago spring frost forced reseeding canola first week in June. Huge yields60-70 bpa. The time to worry is when the combines roll and you see what you get. One farmer left 25% frosted acres to live and reseeded the rest. The difference was 35 bushels/acre in favour of reseed.

Shit man I've listen to you whine for the last 10 years I've been on here and you contradict yourself eventually in every post. Crop sucks, too wet, too windy, cwb blows, NDP are donkeys, Justins a tard, yada yada yada. Then the next breath your talking about 60 bu canola, locked in 7 dollar wheat, selling the rest for 8. Always stir the pot and then off to Hawaii. Its just a crop!

What goes into determining a rental price?
Productive ability based on an average crop rotation?.... without any regard for crop rotation? Competition between renters. Egos. Lack of competition. Boom times. Bust times.

Each area will have a different idea as to what's fair, or maybe not so fair, or sensible based on one or combination of above factors.

What's the minimum return you'll rent land for....stoopid question because your left holding the bag after everyone else has been paid from it.....sometimes there's a bit left, sometimes lots and sometimes you might have to put some more in to ensure everyone else gets paid!

Don't bother putting regular fertilizer on, bullshit always gets the best yields.

Long way to the bin, but canola looks better day by day.
Not what those holding out for higher price want to hear, but that's the way it is.

I cashed out at $12.... greed has taught me more than one lesson in my marketing career....I am also a slow learner and tend to forget! I was nervous many times....about 4 for sure... look at a canola chart and you'll see what I mean.

A lot of other stresses I'm more tired of.
