End of the day , it's an absolute slap in the face from line company b/s that they send out stuff like that knowing full well .... and they do .. that shtf the days following. Wow a they do actually think farmers are that stupid and some do follow their religion. Cause that's what it is ... worse than a cult

You would think with the story of a pending shortage of high protein wheat that the premium for 14.5 over 11.5 would be increasing. Well think again. The local here took another 12 cents on Friday.
$1.15 premium back in September. 53 cents on Friday. Hey no one will notice. The price is going up isn't it?

Next excuse not to pay for px will be the drought conditions around the world produced enough to meet demand. If dryness continues here on our farm we will likely have some freakishly high px levels of which they don't like paying for protien over 15%......

Yup, you gotta wonder what they knew. Look at the U.S. Minni market today, on a short trading day and the eve of a civic holiday.

Traders and speculators assume/know that farmers down grade and write-off their crops sooner on public posting forms than likely reflects the truth about the actual condition of their crops. A week or two when farmers it ND, SD and MT were saying rain was too late, it was likely taken with a grain of salt. The New forecast out this morning, will now give credence to the farmers earlier posts, with the dry and heat forecast for the next 10-14 days.
Ya there might be high protein, but the concern now is moving to bushel weight and falling numbers! It may not be suitable for milling grade.

re canola, the vast majority of canola acres across the prairies will start/or be blooming this week, our area is forecast for 35'C next weekend. Good soil moisture can help some, but won't protect all flowers at such high temps., imagine a wind with it.

You won't have to imagine the wind for long .....it will be a reality...and even with sub 30 degree temperature that vibrant yellow will turn dull....meaning it's blasting.....

Seen it in 2010 and we were not short of moisture....quite the opposite....

That was the point I was making bucket,,,,good moisture still won't save canola if it's hot enough, factor wind into the equation and there's big trouble, ie Friday's canola trade. Can't wait for Tuesday.

Its a ship wreck out there. Ive got canary heading out at 10 inches. Wheat is headed out at about 16 inches and thin. Canola has hardly covered the ground and has bolted. Lentils are spindly. This coming heat wave will seal the deal.
