        nice try with the cartoon.
but you could have Harper giving Arrar, ,10million
        and be just as true.
i know the whole thing stinks,
but where is your Harper cartoon ?

i am sure there will be lots of reasons to hate Trudeau before he is done.
but you have 2 prime ministers in the same situation
same results and you blame the courts with Harper and then turn around and blame
        Trudeau in this situation.

are you going to blame the next NDP govt. in sask. with the cost of the transportation hub ?

sawfly i don't think harper offered a apology from Canada like our supreme idiot will do.

The liberals are in power now the conservatives are in the past its the liberal show. Your boy is a useless Pm that we have to live with till 2019. Just like Alberta did with their Nut Case and ontario with theirs.

There is a huge difference between arrar and kahdar. Arrar never admitted to nor proven guilty. Kahdar admitted to and convicted of murder. Lefties like to overlook the facts

Kadhr's confession which he later said was only given because he thought it was his only way out is tainted by the fact that he had no legal representation during the interrogation process, and he was subject to sleep deprivation which is considered a form of torture. Not to mention he was a 15 year old child soldier under international conventions. All of which means he would have never been convicted under Canadian law. When you start suggesting that we break the laws of Canada just because you consider him a terrorist or from a terrorist family you are heading down a slippery slope to acting no better than the terrorists in the worst case. Read the Supreme Court decision. Check out what retired veteran Romeo Dallaire says about Kahdr.

For you terrorist sympathizers trying to relieve the drama teacher of his choice to pay out a self-admitted terrorist, DON'T EVEN GO THERE.

As the article linked below spells out very clearly, this decision was made by the Trudeau Liberal government WITHOUT CAUSE!

The writer states: "Here’s the rub with this settlement: neither the American nor Canadian legal processes are complete. There would have been compelling reasons for allowing them to play out before giving Khadr any money."

It doesn't matter whether he would have been convicted under Canadian law. He didn't do the crime in Canada. If you leave the country and commit a crime elsewhere Canadian law shouldn't be a consideration

Canadian officials were involved in the process so Canadian law apply. The Supreme Court of Canada clearly ruled his constitutional rights were violated. You are wrong that Canadian law does not apply unless you think you are smarter than the justices on the Supreme Court. The whole quasi military judicial process in Guantanamo is not legal under international or Canadian law. And I am not sympathetic to terrorists. But there is no credible legal confirmation that Kahdr is a terrorist under Canadian law. The Americans deemed him an enemy combatant to get around international laws governing prisoners of war. This is a good example of why the political arm of government should be completely independent of the justice system. trudeau is paying now because the case will be lost and the potential costs higher later.

The decision to pay him more than 10 million dollars was not made by the justices at the Supreme Court. There is no guarantee that the costs would be more if they go to the courts. On principle of nothing else, I would be much happier if we risked it. Trudeau is just like a kid in the cookie store. Trudeau is looking more and more like he is a friend of Islam, please read the hundreds of Canadian's comments to every news clip pertaining to Omar Khadr.

                          Well said.
Kadr and his family are Islamic terrorists who murdered An American medic. He also built similar bombs that killed many Canadians.

Justin and his party also have recently killed the law brought in by Harper to strip dual citizen Canadians of their Canadian citizenship if they commit terrorist acts.
Does this make any sense or is he pandering to the Muslim voter and the bleeding hearts?
