Well Environment Canada has our area today on for one hell of a F$%King weather.
First hot as hell.
Windy as all spring.
Storm central as it builds.
Rain this morning but not much as it picked up as it went East.
Stuck moisture probe and dug with back hoe in hill moisture is good below but how well can crop recover at night is the question.
From my travels on the weekend it seems every thing down to the valley looks normal from Swan River down to Fort. Then as you cross the valley You have to look closely but you can see spots in pea fields that are shutting down flowering and canola has funny colour in places. Soy loves the heat and has finally started to fix nitrogen and flax is still thin. Then Balgonie to Regina you see the thin areas are not coming and Canola leaves are covering their heads.
Regina is going to water rationing this week with old Odd day water even get a fine.
As you go west the real drought starts and Heat warnings are out again for the SW.
So will today be all hype or will a meaning full rain actually happen. It seems its the same looks Awesome on radar has a few mm.
After this run for the border rain event is over were back in the 30 to 33 temps.
Time will tell who wins the Lotto Max but so far its starting to get dry out their.
Oh and Today the USA weather service is saying Iowa will hit temps of over a 100 later in the week. Corn just loves weather like that. Second crop Beans on Wheat stubble look like they could be a shit show this year. Seeded late June.
