I didn't have the text up yet to explain. As bad as that looks, if the slugs and the beetles and the wet would leave it alone, there is almost enough plants to make a crop, most are so eaten you can't see them until you crawl around.

Ironic, for the last two springs/early summers it wouldn't rain at all out here, now while you guys are burning up, we're back to normal drownings.

Feel you pain here at Weyburn Farma. Some crops hanging on, but today was a disaster with heat and wind. Canola came out of bloom Lentils shut down, cereals starting to show dry spots that are burning up in the fields. Harvest will be starting here before the end of July. No significant rain in the forecast most guys are coming to the realization it is what it is. Sounds like a lot of contract cancelations in the area from Canola to some pulses and Malt Barley.

had an inch last week. it was a stay of execution on the canola , some got 2 , some got 0,
still a lot of really nice decent wheat around. at some point it will need a rain.

a big canola crop is gone, and even 40 is wishful thinking now.
all coming out of flower real quick. lentils peas too

on the lightest land , the worst of the worst 1%, getting some zeros already.

Pics would look like SF3 s. so we are pretty lucky in the scheme of things

Oh yea did I mention there are better crops in the district than mine.... but not twice as good or even one and a half times as good. Low tides can strand all ships just like high tides can raise all ships.....
No i'm not gonna post pics, as i said my crops still look pretty good. Everyone can post pic's of poor spots on a field, but is that representative of what you feel you'll get? Our area looks good but it needs a rain. Gotta go to the dentist in brdn. now.

To wet to dry. Will not matter because in just over two weeks frost is coming.

Frost in two weeks would make this year same as 2002.

Weather is so funny this year wind almost every day. You can count the days with no wind.

For us nothing since last main rain in June.

One Canola, One wheat and One Peas basically our poorest dirt i would say in done by friday this week.

                  Rest holding on with Dew.

Its a shit year in Western Canada. Ah the hardest place in the world to grow a decent crop.

I almost forgot to post the wheat on lentil stubble. It is headed out mostly 8" high but none taller than a foot.

Farma, those are some rough pics. I took another look at that map posted earlier, and even if your in the moderate brown area, wow there's a big area of sask that'll have similar stands. Sure there'll be areas where it's better, but even those spots we'll likely be hurt and look worst, once you walk into them.
Good or bad crops, I've said since spring we're due for a early frost, the dry conditions, I think amplify the possibilities. Watch out for the northwesterlies. The weather forecast last week was for snow along the Quebec-Labrador border, yes, last week. Guess if the heat stays turned up, the canola will be podded and cured by mid August.
