So it's ok to support terrorist countries rather than build pipelines inside your own country. Fact is , eastern Canadians see themselves above western Canadians and would rather support blood oil than oil from their own people out west because they hate to see us become even remotely wealthy . That's what it's about .

Using our own oil makes more sense now but it didn't seem to matter when it was easier to build pipelines. But one has to wonder whether we may end up with the oil sands as stranded assets because of the shift away from carbon and expensive sources of oil?

I have met a lot of people from Ontario who are happy to get a decent wage in western Canada. Low wages, the loss of manufacturing jobs and the cost of living in Ontario have lots of people looking west with envy. Toronto has gotten too big and who the hell wants to commute for 2 hours a day or more.

Don't fall into the trap thinking that the rest of Canada is against the west. Sure there are differences and issues, but we have a lot to be thank full for in this large and diverse country.

the Irving's do not care where the oil comes from.
so if you want western oil in the east , ( which is fine with me) then you are going to need
a left leaning , business interfering/ planned economy . govt. to make it happen .

Well I agree with both of you there on a lot of points.
I guess my point is the west was perceived as cash cow by the liberals and JT is going to do what his step Dad did, pick our pockets clean .
The carbon tax will end up just like Sask crop insurance, in a general revenue fund that will disappear.

phuckPhuck, Trump did denounce the violence,,,,on the very first day. In fact he denounced all the violence, including the violence by the Democrats who so dearly want to erase American history. (There are lots of places on the internet where you can view the violence of the Democrat organised street terrorists.) Who organized them, Soros or Bob Cramer ?

Funny how you can watch those videos and not see violence coming from both sides? Just proves where your prospective screen is at.

What is very telling about this thread is the many apologists for Trump and the lack of criticism of the White Supremacists and Neo Nazis who organized the original demonstration. Not to mention the blatant murder of one counter protester and attempted murder of several more by one of the extremists.

So how is an observer to this thread going to interpret this? There are a couple of obvious options. 1. Many of the posters are White Supremacists and Neo Nazis or at least sympathizers. 2.They don't have the courage to condemn such organizations.

Or am I missing the reason why almost nobody on this thread has been outraged by the fact that White Supremacists and Neo Nazis are coming out of the shadows and expressing their ugly nasty hatred in public?

Well, chucky, since you haven't condemned the violence perpetrated by the leftist goons at this event or many others, by your own standards that automatically makes you a blood-stained Stalinist.
