    Sask power

What a bunch of crooked pricks! They will never stop with the increased rates. What kangaroo court is approving these 5% per year rate increases? How much waste is involved in sask power? Why aren't there executive wage roll backs? When is enough enough? But you know what, your going to pay it and be happy! At this rate just figure it out 3 years from this 5 percent increase with 3 more coming your bill is 20 percent more.

I read a few years back that Saskpower had a million power poles that needed changing in the next ten years. A pole is worth something crazy like 2 or 3,000.

It costs a ton to renew infrastructure. Just like bridges in Saskatoon, overpasses, etc. The future is looking expensive no matter where you look.

They are moving poles close to the roads rather than across the fields..On 1 of ours they took out 9 poles off 1 quarter and the line was buried..Expensive because they used a back hoe for the 1/2 mile instead of a plow?
Trench still caving in..But anything with Gov. is not very efficient.

I am outraged as well over the electricity cost increases. Are these official increases yet or does this have to be approved?

Cheap, reliable electricity is important for agriculture especially in a wet fall like 2016.

Just another reason that more expensive and less reliable "green" renewable electricity wouldn't go over well if we are getting upset over a 5% increase......

" Just another reason the more expensive and less reliable "green" renewable Electricity"

            Fraser Institute numbers from 2008-2015

Using data compiled by Hydro-Québec, the study compares the hydro bill (including taxes) for a typical household using 1,000 kWh per month in selected cities, as of 2016:

            Montreal: $83.08
            Winnipeg: $97.50
            Calgary: $109.19
            Vancouver: $114.38
            Halifax: $166.80
            Ottawa: $182.51
            Toronto: $201.23

Funny how the the two lowest cities hydro bills power comes from renewal energy source! As for reliablity Manitoba Hydro can't be beat! Not sure what your talking about!

Manitoba Hydro now is planning to raise rates 46% over the next 5 years. Not gonna be on the cheap end for long.

Around Kindersley they are running power poles everywhere. Most oil wells have power now. North of Coleville the is a road with poles on both sides of the road. Looks like the are giving the oil company's deals and hitting the tax payer with the difference. Had a power line buried across one 1/4 of mine for 12 grand. Didn't take much over an hour.

Most wells here run on propane or wellhead gas. Years ago some fields were electric but was free to run on head gas. Around here underground power would be a nightmare with all the pipelines. You must bore under existing lines.

Saskpower has a major infrastructure deficit simply in the need to replace farmstead poles and transformers. Ours was put in 1955 and was marked to be replaced 20 years ago. Power guy told me there were a lot more.

Bill Boyd's and Brad Wall's 1.3 billion dollar Gamble ,otherwise known as Carbon Capture and Storage Will Double the cost of Power

Due to the fact that tying chem plant on to Power plant makes the plant 50 % LESS Efficient

Buckle up boys you voted for em
