This field since the floods began slowly dropped to only 110 acres available to seed in 2010. The following is map of this falls shut down of the field. I would say droughts suck but really their is a positive were back and next year it will be end to end seeding on lots of fields. Finally.

So i guess were just above average for harvest this year.

Despite rain delays in some areas, producers in Saskatchewan now have 7% of the crop in the bin and 7% swathed or ready to straight-cut. The 5-year average for this time of year is 4% combined and 6% swathed or ready to straight-cut, according to Saskatchewan Agriculture’s weekly Crop Report.
82% of the fall rye, 50% of the winter wheat, 35% of the lentils, 28% of the field peas, 3% of the durum and 2% of the mustard are now in the bin. 6% of the canola and 5% of the mustard has been swathed.
Harvest progress is most advanced in the southwest region where 17% of the crop is now combined. The southeast region has 11% combined, the west-central region 3 percent and the east-central region 1%. Many producers in the north expect to be in the field in the coming weeks, although desiccation and swathing has begun in some areas.

.......the next half section of wheat is yielding less that the first half section....hmmm. One mile apart.... one on flax stubble the other on canola stubble both treated the same. No more rain at one than the other. Bit of a difference in land but both halves have their weak spots. The first one rattled me... the second one is disappointing me(compared to the first), but still not horrible for the type of year we came through. We have a quarter of Jatharia(midge resistant for seed purposes) to do yet.... better dirt and thinking it will at least match the results of the first half.

            Harvest safe folks.
