So does this mean the widespread outrage and condemnation of white supremacists and the KKK is also fake? Just like the Donald, you want the counter protest to share in the blame. I haven't seen you condemning wife-beaters, murderers, child pornographers and pedophiles today. Does that mean that you are in support of those vile criminals? They make the news every day, somewhere.

I don't think you are, or at least, I sincerely hope not.

The point is, there are some things so obviously wrong that the general public simply and implicitly accepts it as wrong, and doesn't need to make a daily statement condemning it. Such is the case with Nazism, white supremacy, etc.

Most of us have ancestors who gave up their lives, or at least risked them, to stop those threats. And yet you think we need to make more of a statement against them?

But since you seem to incessantly preach the need for self-absolution, now might be a good time to defend yourself against any wrong suspicions that you might "favor" wife-beaters, etc., by condemning them.

You see what I did there? If we are only saved from public wrath by what we openly disavow, none of us will ever be safe because none of us can ever disavow or condemn enough bad stuff to suit another, especially a mindless mob.

What a fascinating post by Burnt to chuckChuck. It raises so many questions that I hope Burnt will answer:
-If neo Nazi's and white supremists are so morally wrong as you state in your post, why are they allowed to gather and demonstrate in public?
-Would these groups have held such rallies if they did not feel empowered and accepted by the current President and government?
-If these groups were not rallying in public, would there have been any anti fascist protesters openly opposing them?
-If child molesters and pedophiles held a public rally in your home town Burnt, would this be acceptable to you?
-Would you join a public demonstration against an open rally of molesters and pedophiles or do you feel they have the right to publically promote their lifestyle?
-And if violence broke out between the two groups and Trudeau said those opposed to the open rally of pedophiles were as much to blame as the pedophiles, would you accept Trudeau's statement as you seem to accept Trump's?
-You asked chuckChuck if he supports child molesters and pedofiles. Perhaps you should answer the same question; especially if you are not willing to oppose a public gathering in your own town of them or if you feel by demonstrating against such a gathering you are as bad as they are.

But I have to ask - since they actually lead to many of the same conclusions that Trump voiced - are you a Trump supporter? I'd really don't care if you are - each to his own. I just be disappointed you're one of the more rabid ones.

In any case, you seem to employ the words "morality", "feel", "acceptable", etc. quite freely, words which become especially conspicuous in their context of presumption. So you really don't offer anything that can be solidly debated. Let's deal in reality.

The reality is that morality has become so subjective as to be irrelevant. I think you will agree that everything that is legal is not considered to be "moral" by some. Therefore, what is legal can make many people cringe with shame.

Those who engage in that which is legal, but not moral, will have to someday answer for themselves, and not to me. Since there is no absolute standard anymore, whose standard of morality forms your frame of reference?

The reason you need to answer that question becomes clearer when you observe that what was once unthinkable is now celebrated.

Therefore, perhaps you should answer your own questions: If/When, in the not-so-distant future the molesters and pedos demonstrate en masse for "equal rights" are you going to stand against them? And if/when the Prime Minister looks the other way or. heaven forbid, supports and marches with them on the grounds of egalitarianism or because morality has changed, on what will you base your (current, I presume) objection?

Don't think for a minute that it can't happen.
