    Thanks Sask Party and SARM

Just paid land taxes. Highest assessed 1/4 we have is $2500 , 30% inc over last year . Dont these guys realize there is only so much money to go around ??? What are others seeing ? Mb?,BC,? Sk? ,AB ??

We must pay more so others don't have too .
    This is getting fuked up.
Way way too many free loaders in society today and those of us that work our asses off are paying for the slugs and the mismanagement of government.... of all colours and political stripe.

Wow that is a lot. Mediocre land in our county of AB is around $500. Don't know how much the better land is as I don't have any of it. Work out to around 4.50 per seeded acre.

When we got ours the other day I had a quick glance at it and didn't see anything shocking (that jumped out at me). It's that ****ing useless C&D levy that some ****ing asshole blind-sided the area with that sticks in my craw!

Karma has a way of fixing things!

Our 14 acres plus home is assessed for 100,000 more than we paid for it 3 years ago... Explain that one

Our RM basically adjusted the mill rate to make the re-assessment neutral. I will have a closer look and comparison to see what the school tax levy is like compared to last year.

That must be damn good dirt caseih...you need some ghetto dirt if you think your taxes are too high.

Also we have two major pipeline corridors running through our RM and a small spattering of oil wells. Not too many large commercial ventures....but all those help keep farmland taxes down...they don't have to rely on only farmland to operate the RM.

If you think THE NDP will lower rural taxes if they get in..then your smoking some bad weed.

                        Ours up 17% over 2016. Average taxable assessment= $119,753
Average Tax per quarter = $1077.

Yay! RM of Ponass lake, great place to own land...hint hint

Farma this includes levies for 2 C&D's and a levy for Quill Lake Watershed.

What is the assessment on your $2500 quarter? ours would have to be $277,978

                          Hmmmph,

                          Municipal up about 6.5%
                          School taxes up about 15%...ouch.

I guess a six and a half percent increase on an already reasonable municipal tax rate didn't catch my attention at first glance....but the school tax increase is kind of steep.
