Tiny little pod don't show up on nvdi maps either .... just sayin.
It's been an extremely hot and dry summer ..... canola is a cool season flowering plant . It will surprise a few in a few areas with very good yields , but ..... it is what it is ... they have not bred drought tolerance yet .

I guess I should have booked in some canola when we combined ours... we are done harvest now

Green lentils. Lg and small. 33 bushels
      Wheat 73
      Canola 47

      1.25 inches of rain

Another 4 canola yield emails from this morning

      Biggar: 47 and 51 bpa
      Eston: 42
Swift Current: 34 bpa average - done combining

You need an average SK yield of under 26 bpa to get to 16.9 MMT

Looks like someone has fallen for another bullshit Aulie story.

Canola cant take 2 months of 30 degrees. Its just that simple. People in the industry should know that as well as farmers do

That's right the trade will use the numbers and estimates going around as we can see by larrys comments. Going to have to be patient to wait it out probably till late spring just like durum kostal is out with 5.5 mT durum crop if you can believe that

Guess there are people who did fall off of yesterday's cabbage leaf, just not the ones who witnessed it.

They aren't getting a bushel of grain off our farm at current prices.
Same as last year on the wheat. Ain't starting the auger for under $7.50 and canola $11.50
Now if only all farmers would join together and do the same.... I know wishful thinking.

Well what do we need rain for then ??

They don't actually think that but it works well to manipulate the market. And pick off lots of cheap grain.
Really gets old after many years of this.

I'm sure on that particular field it's the truth just like in my story earlier in this thread. Doesn't mean it's the average over all their acres

Especially if I have a short position.

Do you know how many grain bags I've seen driving anywhere south of No 1 highway all the way to Helena Montana three times this fall ? - zilch - nada one ---- last year there were hundreds-full of all crops. Go into the American elevators sampling room, last year there were piles of sample bags along the walls - this year you can count them on your hands and toes.

Anyone see any grain bags filled yet in the field? Just saying!
