Had a good shot of rain earlier this morning, winds are finally not from SE
Just hope the NW winds stay reasonable.
Canola might be up to 8% moisture today lol. Just hope that swaths don't start moving much .

Its been so dry that I'm conditioned to think it won't rain. Some years you took every available minute to harvest,,, this year there didn't seem to be a panic, the risk of rain never seemed to materialize or develop and we probably had a false sense of security. Seems once a trend(dry) is set, what does it take to break that trend. Just have afew acres of flax left. Then some potholes that are ready. Then some that need to be cut but will wait til this "system" passes through. If it drizzles or rains a bit we will be ready to burn the bunched flax straw piles.

Can you imagine how much rain it would take to replenish subsoil.... man is it dry here.

Canola at 4.5%, industry gets 4% bonus in dry matter, Farmers SFA. Seeds are so small crop is10-20 bushels short. Will hear if straight cut filled any better. me thinks the green in the plants got SUCKED down into soil not like normal soil into plant.

Local Dekalb plots went over 60.straight cut.
Yes it's dry..but way more fun than a mud bowl..crop damage was done a month or more ago..get it off before it changes..it will change.
