    Wind ....

Don't be surprised to see wind warnings tomorrow is some parts of the prairies .
Already updates to 70 k gusts NW for tomorrow for here .
I had a feeling this would happened , mentioned the possibility a few days ago in another thread

Good to be warned about wind.

It could be a factor when deciding to combine canola vs cereal if you have both ready.

Yup , I hate taking 5% canola but would hate worse to see 50% of it roll around . If it moves at all it's going to shatter out its so dry and brittle

I do hope it rains tonight, but it would have to rain a lot for anyone with lighter dry swaths .
Hopefully I am wrong and it stays below 50 k

I just got all my canola swathed and it would be depressing if the swaths move.

Two forecasts this morning showing 1.5" rain for here Thur/Fri. YR.no has now backed their forecast off to 6mm on Saturday. Hope their original forecast comes through.

                Ok...let's put this into perspective.

Let's say you have 1000 acres of canola that will yield 40bu/ac @$11.00/bu....$440, 000.

Who in their right mind would leave that much money laying around in the field because of a half percent more distinct green than it should have or it's too dry?

It's like laying 44, 000 ten dollar bills all over the field and hoping a wind doesn't come along and blow some away before you can get them all picked up.

There's good reasons for not combining it and not good reasons for letting it lay there.

I would tend to err on putting it safely in storage than letting the wind have it's way with it....not fun!
