Wow. Unless it happens in or to the US it doesn't matter.

Which part of Argentina did your family farm?

That is strange, can't find mention of that anywhere on the internet media sources. Maybe they are just overwhelmed with weather stories at the moment?
In general I tend to get my serious news from the BBC website as they have comprehensive coverage from around the world. North America has always had joke worthy news coverage - particularly the US.

                  Here's the one from above
lA PLATA.- After the rain of more than 130 millimeters between Saturday and Sunday, there are still hundreds of evacuees and self-evacuated in the province of Buenos Aires. In General Rodríguez, the neighbors had to evacuate or ask for help from the authorities.

"Over the weekend, there were about 40 centimeters of water in the houses and streets of several neighborhoods, but now it's draining," said Miguel Groccia, the Director of the Municipal Operations Command at LA NACION.

In that district there were more than 90 evacuees and the majority are housed in the Hall of Multiple Uses of the municipal sports center. About 300 people were assisted in their homes and many did not have light throughout the weekend. In addition, roofs and trees were blown.

                  Unstable until Thursday

Several localities of the province of Buenos Aires suffered the consequences of the storm of the weekend. There were families evacuated, alert by strong winds and floods of rivers. According to the National Weather Service, it will be unstable until Thursday.

In the Luján, Carabassa and San Jorge de Pilar neighborhoods there were more than 80 evacuated people who are now housed in the Municipal Evacuation Center. The 123 millimeters that fell, made the river overflow.

"The river is four meters from the bridge, it overflowed, it has a height of 7 meters 18 centimeters, five meters more than it should," said Gustavo Loureiro, Major of firefighters and also said that in several areas people have more than one meter of water inside their houses.

Firefighters are working with the thirty families who live on the banks of the river. They try to approach the boat to the houses and bring them food and dry clothes. "We managed to evacuate seven families, but people do not want to leave their homes," Loureiro said.

"There was a group that came back, and there are others who will be able to return to their homes during this week. Most affected are those living on the banks of the Luján River," said Ramón Pared, Director of Civil Defense.

In General Lavalle there are agricultural producers who can not access their fields That is why the direction of Hydraulics of the province is working in the Terraplén to drain Channel 2, and thus prevent future floods by the flood of the river Salado.

In Azul there were alerts for strong winds that reached 75 kilometers per hour. There are alerts from the municipality due to the fall of several poles and trees in the National Route 3 and Provincial Route 60.

In the last hours the Municipality of Luján raised the state of alert that had since Saturday. The upper basin of the Luján River had grown; had a height of 1.99 cm and there had been flooding in several neighborhoods. Two families in the Los Laureles neighborhood had self-evacuated, but returned home.

Last Friday in a statement in the Official Gazette, the Minister of Agroindustry, Ricardo Buryaile, declared the state of emergency and agricultural disaster in the parties of Junín, Daireaux, Guaminí, Villegas, Hipólito Yrigoyen, Bolivar until the end of the year. Also extended the one of General Arenales, Pinto and Lincoln until the 31 of October.

The latest report from the NMS ensures that winds between 40 and 70 km / h will continue throughout the day and the meteorological alert continues for the south of the province of Buenos Aires and the Rio de la Plata.
